I appreciated the author's conciseness, but don't agree with the author's point.

We're already down at least 3 WRs for an unknown amount of time only a week into camp. It would be mutually beneficial for Aiyuk and the 49ers to bury the hatchet. The only thing getting in the way is pride.

Let's say that happens, you really want to pay 26M for a WR that blew out his ACL/MCL, damaged meniscus with nerve damage that hasn't played for 2 years?

He'd hardly be the first player with a significant injury history that we've payed a lot of money to. How much money are we paying Bosa, a guy with 3 ACL tears and less sacks than Leonard Floyd since he signed his new deal? Or Kittle? Or Purdy? Or Warner? Lots of money for guys who are coming off injuries. Aiyuk's history suggests he can play at a high level when healthy. Seems odd to throw a valuable asset away over a few posts on instagram badmouthing the organization.

It's not how many injuries it's the significance of it. The injury that Aiyuk had can easily ruin a career at his position. The only two players I can think of that came back at an all pro level needing to be able to consistently cut is Gronk and Adrain Peterson both freaks of nature. Even then Gronk was a jump ball TE and Peterson was a power back. Aiyuks whole game is built on taking sharp cut every play.

Not saying he's done but I'm not banking on him being the same player either especially 2 years removed

I've seen players come back from worse, but it's fair to be concerned. We do have reports that he looked good before he left the team last year.

I think his contract would need to be significantly reworked in order for him to return, but it could be done.

Welcomed back? Some keep mentioning that. What makes yall think he would EVEN come back if they asked him?

Again he turned down millions to get away from Kyle and Paraag. Didn't even want the union to help him resolve it.

Well, Jed fired Paraag so that's one less person Aiyuk has beef with left in the organization.

Jed didn't fire Paraag. He had been deeply involved in the soccer teams, even had an offer take over as MLS commissioner.

All that said, it could be construed as PM being the bad guy and that opens the door a crack. I don't think Jed would play it that way, at least in public, but what might be said in private might work to start the convo.
Aiyuk is a dirtbag but I'd take him back in a second if he can help us win

If BA wants to minimize teh beef, he would also have to remove all the mirrors around him

That's the public explanation, but I'm not sure I buy that Paraag wanted to step away from a $10 billion+ premier NFL franchise so that he could focus on some middling soccer clubs. He's being fired, but the Yorks respect his years of service doing their dirty work so they're calling it something else.

The Yorks are probably the ones that floated him as a candidate for MLS commissioner, but when Paraag publicly withdrew himself from consideration they banished him to Scotland.

It doesn't matter how. It just is. It does have the potential to make a way to bring Aiyuk back in if that is what both sides want.

Sounds like the type to take back an abusive significant other just because they were good (not amazing, just good) in bed. Lol

no way I would take back this anti-social weirdo who thought he was Randy Moss/ T.O. Because he had 1 season where he maybe cracked the top 10, besides his strength as a player has most likely been neutralized due to the injury.

I thought he was a top three finalist as Soccer Comossioner. Does this leave mean it's coming? I haven't heard anything else about it in over a week that he was one of three last standing.

Great post!

I would still take him back in a heart beat. But I am the type that would employ O.J, A. Hernandez, and anyone else that could actually play regardless of criminality, off the field issues, or beliefs (Bosa). I am what you call a "win at all costs" fan also known as a POS fan in churches and courtrooms LOL.

I don't disagree with anything you are saying but if you told me Aiyuk is healthy and can contribute, I really don't care that he said some mean stuff on Instagram. I just want to win a Superbowl again, by any means necessary
