Lol. You two are killing me.

Man, I'm just trying to be like John Lewis and "get in some good trubble"

I know players get the business side of the league can be its own unique thing, but players also keep track of who has your back on the field and in the locker room. Reputations like that have a tendency to travel by word of mouth around the league.

This separates the men from the boys in the same way that the first day of pads do.

Well; maybe not the same way lol

I know some my fellow brothers on here can relate too having those guys talking all that s**t through summer camps and conditioning program; good ol bull ring or machine gun drills first day of pads and hitting, shutting them the F up and quitting before the end of the week
I don't see how any nfl player respects him anymore? Sure, he can walk into the commanders locker room on the vet minimum, but they're all going to think he's out of his mind for walking away from 25+ million etc.

Also, while I've certainly hated Jed over the years and have criticized Kyle and John plenty as well with their blunders, on this one I agree and they should hold onto his ass until the last possible second. I would make his life as miserable as possible.

For anyone saying just be the bigger person and let him go - even if they wanted to, they can't. Becuse that tells other players if you pull this bs you can get what you want etc. can't start that type of precedent, no good for business.

I love my team like I love my family. If my family is f**king up, I'm not gonna sit back and blindly support them. My younger Brother grew up knowing if he did something stupid, I wouldn't lie for him or b******t him... to show support.

As far as what's best for the team this is what I posted, but I guess folks want to skip s**t like that..

"We should worry about who we have on the team.. and also learn from what ever mistakes that might have happened from the front office/Coach's end that we have lost a potential great player. So it doesn't happen again."

I don't think it would set a bad precedent simply b/c no other player is throwing away that much money to sign a 1 year prove it deal elsewhere. He threw away long term security. That's not something players are about to follow. You even said players wouldn't respect him so why would they follow his actions?

This is the delusion I'm talking about when it comes to our fanbase. His new teammates will be excited as soon as he gets on the team... and he'll earn their respect by how he practices and the plays he makes on the field on gamedays.

Then the second part "make his life as miserable as possible".... is that same personal s**t I was talking about before... bitter ex-girlfriend mentality.

Again it seems like BOTH the 9ers FO and Aiyuk got what they wanted. The FO, found an opening, and got out of the contract they didn't want to give Aiyuk. And Aiyuk is going to a team with a Front Office that actually wants him...and a Head Coach that will use him how he feels he should be used.

As far as WHY the 9ers are holding on to him like this....the 9ers FO are doing what they feel is best (I don't think it's out of making his life miserable or anything), but taking advantage of what they can do until Sept 1st (pay kicks in). So if some star WR gets injured somewhere and another team comes knocking and Brandon likes what he hears regarding a contract + the team itself... well then something might happen.

It's also a competitive reason.. the less time Brandon has to build chemistry with the Commanders (which I'm sure the 9er FO expects him to go post release), the better chances his impact with the Commanders isn't as felt... and maybe a loss or two from the Commanders early on, will be beneficial to the 9ers fighting for a wildcard spot toward the end of the season. Not sure how much it helps for our week 6 game though, Aiyuk might be in a groove by then.
