Not bad not bad
Maybe he's a Viking
At least brought something back from Miami
Does anyone on this forum really know anything about this guy? What makes him better than some other DB coach?

His coaching history doesn't look stellar with a bunch of one year stints and no DC looks but considering their recent track record with assistants, I'll trust that he was a good addition.

Can he play Safety?

If Miami Dolphins don't want you, we are in deep trouble.

Oden was hired to be the Secondary/ Cornerbacks for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013. He was let go after the season.

Oden briefly overlapped with Saleh on Central Michigan's staff in 2004, and Saleh made a strong impression during their short time together. As a result, Oden recommended Saleh for a defensive internship with the Texans in 2005 that paid $5.25 an hour.

Oden was on Detroit's staff with 49ers defensive line coach Kris Kocurek in each of his four seasons with the Lions. In addition, 49ers vice president of player personnel Martin Mayhew was Detroit's general manager in Oden's first two seasons.

Oden will oversee a secondary that was part of the NFL's second-ranked defense in 2019. The 49ers allowed just 169.2 passing yards a game, the fewest in the NFL since the 2009 Jets (153.7).

In 2019, the Dolphins allowed an NFL-high 39 touchdown passes, ranked 26th in passing yards allowed (4,198) and 29th in opponent passer rating (101.9).
Huh. Odd no guy with a DC pedigree knowing Saleh is temporary.
