He was definitely the odd man out after the draft. Better to cut him now than wait for the inevitable.
There was no way he was making the team, Trey sermon is basically taking up 2 roster spots in the RB group. Because he's a starter and a backup.
Not surprised he was cut, but I'm surprised Josh Johnson is still on the roster.
I hope Austin Walter has a good career.

They're at 78 signed players, plus 8 picks & 4 UDFAs, so that's your current 90 man roster. One will open on June 2nd when Richburg retires.

I can't imagine JJ is long to stay on our roster. He was likely retained if we found a trade partner for Garoppolo because you'd want that vet depth behind Rosen et al.
