Just getting to the 53 is hard enough. Selecting the game day 46 is even tougher. That said, as it stands now, who are the offensive skill players who make the game day 46 and why?

TE: George Kittle; Levine Toilolo
XWR: Dante Pettis; Marquise Goodwin
SWR: Trent Taylor
ZWR: Deebo Samuel; Kendrick Bourne
QB: Jimmy Garoppolo; Nick Mullens
RB: Tevin Coleman; Matt Breida & Raheem Mostert
FB: Kyle Juszczyk
TE: George Kittle; Levine Toilolo
XWR: Dante Pettis; Marquise Goodwin
SWR: Trent Taylor
ZWR: Deebo Samuel; Kendrick Bourne

I think all 4 backs will be active, as long as they're healthy, then 2 QBs, 2 TEs, 1 FB, and 5 WRs.

That's a possibility for sure.

This looks like Week 1. Makes sense having Kendrick Bourne for 1st week. 3rd year into the offense. Taylor is loved by Shanahan and Jimmy although, my preference would be James. I think James has some upside, is more versatile and he is more explosive on Special Teams.

Yeah, I kind of like the upside of James and Matthews more but we'll see!

Below is my game day 46 with offensive skill positions in bold.
QB: Jimmy, Mullens
RB: Coleman, Breida, Mostert (rotates McKinnon with Coleman or Breida each game day based on who's hurting. Better to hold out McKinnon until needed)
FB: Juszczyk

TE: Kittle, Toilolo (Could be Dwelley against certain teams)
OL: Staley, McGlinchey, Tomlinson, Person, Richburg, Garland, Coleman
DL: Bosa, Buckner, Day, Ford, Armstead, Blair, Thomas, Jones
LB: Alexander, Warner, Greenlaw, Lee, Mayo
CB: Sherman, Verrett, Witherspoon, Williams, Reed
S: Tartt, Harris, Ward, Moore

K: Gould
LS: Holba

The RB unit is stronger than the WRs (Shanahan noted the WRs inconsistency today). Because of that I believe Shanahan would rather have McKinnon active rather than one of the inconsistent WRs.

Mostert is the last guy we want inactive. He's got the potential to be a great RB.

Mostert is the most valuable RB on the squad. He's the only RB who plays special teams and he does it at a Pro Bowl level. He's been timed faster in the 40 than any of the other RBs at 4.34 and he is one tough runner. Excellent blocker and pass protector, just needs reps to become a star. RAHEEM MOSTERT AND DEJA VU.
