A lot of what the zone run is, is timing and coordination and intelligence and awareness and being on the same page.Originally posted by AB81Rules:Originally posted by Giedi:Goodwin didnt do much at buffalo, breida was undrafted, and he finds an undrafted QB in Mullens. They also drafted McGlinchey and Pettis last year, plus have overhauled the defense for the most part. No one is saying Beavers is an all star, but he adds depth, you can't have all pros/pro bowlers at every spot.

"Beavers is very athletic with the feet to play left tackle, but has the talent and traits to play all over the offensive line with more technique work. While he clearly has some power and twitch in his hips, he could use a year in an NFL weight room to strengthen his core and upper body. Beavers is an eventual NFL starter who is likely to be targeted by teams who covet tackles who can excel in space."
Kyle's type
Good get - shows they're on their toes.
Great points from both of you.

Ok, it's a start. I said we would get some OG cap cuts, maybe even two OGs, maybe an OT. Getting a guy off waivers isn't really a cap cut in the sense i was thinking. I was thinking of a starter, who had a yr left or so and wanted a new 3 yr deal at $$$millions, and his team just wouldn't budge. With Beavers, this is just getting a guy off waivers , not a cap cut...at least not in the sense i had envisioned.
I am hoping we still get one or two OGs that are starters...Beavers wasn't... and we pick them up. Still and all, it is an OL , and we welcome all comers. But he has to be better than a backup to stay. We need starter OG types. If he can produce in a new environment, fantastic. I hope it isn't as it looks, an OL who just wasn't getting playing time. Still glad to have him tryout.
AB, if you are out there, how do we handle this $$ wise? Does he get a conditional contract or is it something different...eg, guaranteed x amount of $$?

He's very young and has talent. He just couldn't crack the OL at Minnesota, Seattle and the Bears. He'll be given an opportunity here...

cc, I think you're being a little too hard on the Beavers.
