Sad to say I'm afraid Dre won't ever play the same after this injury. Need to look to draft his replacement.
Azeez will be expensive and I don't know where the 49ers are gonna get the cap space to sign him. So I think we should see what Dee Winters has this upcoming season.
Agreed but Azeez was one of my favorites that we lost.

.....Remember that slip and slide practice field the niners were issued before the super bowl? Not a big deal ,right? Niners should be compensated.

At one point several years ago we thought Dre was expendable because Aziz was playing so well. I think it was the season where Greenlaw sustained some type of tear after the Detroit opener.
If we can get Aziz back it might not be much of a drop off. Although Dre was an emotional leader on defense, at least we get to avoid the weekly 15 yard "excessive brute force" penalty he gets…

I agree the 49ers fan base is a bunch of whiners. Looks at the Kyle Shanahan thread

A Restructure does not hurt him at all. In fact, some even help the player.
I remember T Kelce got Restructured, he was happy about it.

I don't understand why people keep saying this lol. It's like most of you guys dont pay attention to the NFL / salary cap lol. And it's usually the clowns that say fIrE kYle!!!
He had a good year for the TN. He's not coming back here for peanuts. He's going to get a nice contract by some team that needs LB help. We can't afford 6-7 mil a year for a 3rd string LB.

3rd string? He'd be starting and Dre's injury is pretty darn serious.
lol "excessive brute force" penalty...I can see Azeeez getting personal foul/ uneccessary roughness penalties bc he was previously our biggest hitter and all you have to do to get flagged is lay the wood

Watching cousins move around 4 months after his Achilles tear makes me feel optimistic

But LB definitely run around more than QB's. They said a full year to be comfortable and be yourself again. Hopefully one of our LB can step up for the time being, until at least the bye week.

The FO has been terrific at finding LB talent and coaching them up. I'm not too worried about this group quite yet until we see issues on the field. This should also elevate the urgency for the young LB's to step up too. It could turn out to be a win-win where like Azeez/Greenlaw, we can't keep everyone.
