Hope he makes it back. The bloke is a machine
This injury now makes LB a priority in the draft. Their system needs at least 2 good LBs to function properly. Even without the injury they needed to add a good backup because Dre gets a lot of injuries that keep him out for a game here and there.
I went back and rewatched the first game of the 2019 season. I forgot how awesome the stack LB trio of Kwon, Fred and Dre was that year. When they were in base, all 3 were f**king everywhere, flying around the field and looking to crack skulls. You don't see that much athleticism in base packages very often.

we've been spoiled around here with LBs.

Yes we need to draft some speed.

Hoping Dee Winters and Jalen Graham can step up. Or even sign Azeez for a year. I'd love some of that 2019 - 2022 defense with this more potent offense.
Sounds like they are pretty confident he could return to full strength according to Barrows fingers crossed

Sherm came back from it pretty well but did lose a little change of direction. He was also older though

It seems to take a full year to regain the trust in the ankle again. I think I saw our local expert (Jason Verrett) consoling him on the sideline and I do hope JV is someone Dre can lean on as far as not giving up.

It's impossible to predict when he will be ready ti play again. Every person heals a little differently. Some are able to rehab quicker. Then of course there is the confidence issue. I think it's likely that he doesn't start the season and probably misses at least the first half of the year. They need to find a better player than Burks.

100% he's a damn fine special teamer but he doesn't cut it on D
Does anyone think Graham and Winters can step up next year? I don't like watching Flanagan- Fowles and Burks out there.

I could see us using more 3-safety looks until Greenlaw fully recovers

The team is high on both Winters and Graham. They will certainly have the chance to with the 2nd and 3rd LB jobs.
