Bosa has an insane work ethic. If he's healthy, I wouldn't be surprised if he puts up probowl or better numbers.

You see a lot of black and white statistics saying he's overpaid/etc. but if you watch him every week (as I presume most niners fans here do) you know he causes a lot of issues for offenses. Maybe he's not a top 3 DE but I think he's an elite player

When he's healthy he's worth every penny. It's been the staying healthy part that's been the issue

2022 Bosa was amazing but that year appears to be an outlier.

That's the last time he was in a contract year.

When he is motivated in a contract year he seems to be worth every penny.

I wonder what he would look like if he had an incentive based contract, paid for every sack or every time he successfully defends a zone read play?

Only give him 1 year deals.

I think Bosa has been great every year he isn't injured.
People who think he hasn't been good since 2022 are the ones who think sack totals are the only stat that matters when determining a players value. Bosa has been ranked in the top 10 every season where he played a full season. But fans look at his sacks and see that he only had 9 sacks and assume he had a bad season.

He's constantly among the lead leaders in pressures, qb hits and is always ranked among the leaders in run defense when it comes to defensive ends.

He half asses it the rest of the time?

He has been good, just not nearly as good.

Hes also been the line person the offense keys on for the most part. So he is creating chances for others but we havent really had anyone who could take advantage of the amount of attention the oddense spends on him

I am asking if they think he tries less when he isn't in a contract year.

The numbers would indicate that he does.

He just got home on sacks that year. When he's been healthy, he's been awesome. That's without even having great co pilots on the d line for him.

his rookie year incredible and he didn't even break 10 sacks. Bosa is great in a lot of things that don't show up on the stat sheet.

we just need him to stay healthy cause he's a monster. This year is his contract year (per the structure). So hopefully he balls out

If you only look at sacks, sure. He's been basically top 10 or top five in most other advanced metrics, pressures, QB hits, hurries, defending the run, etc. This ain't fantasy football. I swear this fan base gets worse and worse every year.
