Now hear me out here but using that logic, he is their 2nd graded edge player. Which is what I said when I made the post. I didn't claim he's the 2nd most impactful player or had the 2nd most pressures or the 2nd best pass rush grade.
I posted it because some people don't have that visibility. Didn't realize there would be a reckoning for not posting the right thing...
Not sure what your point even is since this is a Nick Bosa thread and his production on less snaps is very impressive and who cares about the other guys they have graded higher overall with less impact
My point is the same as when you were posting/suggesting that they have
Kemoko Turay as their "top ranked" DE,....even as the Colts were slow-working him in with limited snaps from game 1,...and even when he was injured for the year after a few games. It's not a ranking,...it's only a rating (a calculation),...two completely different things as I can assure you that at no point during this season was Turay considered to be the top DE,..lol. He had never even sniffed -- say -- JJ Watt's level of production before he was injured too.
Considering who is at the top of something,...that's what a
RANKING would be. An overall opinion/summation of who's the best of the best. Like whomever still was picking New Orleans as the best team in the NFC...even though we were still undefeated. They were
ranking us lower.
Now,...if Turay is not so high anymore, its probably because they're cutting off @ a minimum snap count, and he's injured. It's not because they've suddenly changed their opinion of him while in rehab.
Yet when he was still on the list at the top, you were proclaiming that they had him ranked @ the top of all other DEs,...which they never did, and I'm sure never thought even once this season!!
Again, could a 6th man in basketball that leads the league in points per minute, somehow be considered for Offensive POTY or League MVP?
Of course not!! But this is what you suggest every time you take this one sorted stat and proclaim it stands for one single thing that it doesnt. You're using it all wrong.
In PFF's type of system,...tho...that bench player would be put at the top of this type of stat above the truly great players in the league (with the specific sort you are using to make a point).
We're going in a circle here @ this point. I wouldnt be surprised at all if we were to find out that they call these grades "rankings."
After all, they are a business,...and they do have the goal of making money primarily off of your belief in their ratings and tallies. You cant expect (relatively smaller) companies vying for your wallet access to always be real with you.
I'm just giving you the barebone facts and logic as to why that specific stat is cool, but clearly isint a ranking,...and I think I've given you enough evidence w/multiple examples as to why.
All I can do after this is suggest that you add other things in and stop using your sorting tool the wrong way. If you pay to use it, I think you should get the most out of it. Just a wise suggestion.
