Yeah but Williams was a mediocre player to begin with. I put that on him and the coaching staff for not having him stay away from the football like the Giants did with their punt returner.

There was more to this. There is a huge difference between fumbling twice (both times recovered by the other team), including one at a crucial moment, compared to one offside penalty that happen to be in a crucial moment.

Any great players can commit a offside or false start penalty anytime. That is a minor minor mistake relative to turning the ball over.
Chiefs wanted a better run stopper. That's what it comes down to IMO.

You forget that Ford just had the best season of anyone in football rushing the passer. Clark might be better as an all-around defender, but Ford helps fix our biggest weakness.

We have more than enough guys who are really good at stopping the run and are about to add another in a couple of days. We have no one with his speed and bend though and Clark isn't in his league either.

Bingo!! Nice post. Ford has probably the quickest first step in football or at least top 3. So glad we got him for just a second next year.

Buck and Ford are going to be a nasty combo - possibly along the likes of the Smith Brothers.

Me too. Add Bosa and you have the same combo but from the other side (with possibliy Solomon and Bosa) that's going to be one *nasty* pass rush!

Not running the 3-4, he's big enough.

Spags is their DC and he likes bigger DEs.

He's plenty big for this scheme.
Ford Buckner Thomas Bosa

or

Ford Buckner Armstead Bosa

Either way I think that Dline is going to feast.
