I'm not bashing the guy, but I want some of you to see his 2 drafts as our GM in 2008 and 2009. It will make you thankful for Lynch for sure. Context: He was GM for 2 years and before that he was the VP of Player Personal in 05-07. (Then went to Seattle in 2010) **He definitely redeemed himself in FA though.

2008
1st- DT Kentwan Balmer
2nd- G Chilo Rachal
3rd- DB Reggie Smith
4th- C Cody Wallace
6th- WR Josh Morgan (great pick!)
7th- LB Larry Grant

08 FA moves:
WR Isaac Bruce (age 36)
RB DeShaun Foster
QB Shaun Hill
LB Rod Green
QB JTO (comon Scotty you drunk)
DE Justin Smith (10/10 move)
Gave NT Soap a 4 yr extension
WR Bryant Johnson

2009
1st- WR Crabtree
3rd- RB Glen Coffee
5th- LB Scott Mckillop
5th- QB Nate Davis
6th- TE Bear Pascoe
7th- S Curtis Taylor
7th- DT Ricky J (great pic!)
Undrafted: Alex Boone!

09 FA moves:
WR Brandon Jones (got a 5 year deal and lasted 1 season)
WR Mike Spurlock
FB Morran Norris (2nd time)
QB Damon Huard
DE D. Evans
CB Dre Bly

Sure. But he was a net positive on the roster at the time. Definitely had his misses. But there is a reason his opinion is in demand.

Ohh absolutely, just thought it's been ten years so time for a refresher!

oh I loved Ricky J. Man was so good and great depth behind Ray Mac and Cowboy.
He's a real puzzle.

Smart as hell but IMO he tried to outsmart people like Baalke did instead of going for BPA.

IMO, this is a crucial FA/Draft for JL.

I'm all-in for him BUT he has to really knock it out of the park.
Make it a double, barkeeper.

Those were the drafts jed took over.
As much as we focus on the draft, that's really only 1/3rd of the GMs job. Who did he bring in as free agent, who did he extend, and who did he let walk? That would give a more complete look at his work.

Yeah I can put those things in later. Just simply wanted to compare 08/09 with 17/18 drafts so far.
So far:

Not based on drafts.....Kittle alone puts him ahead of Scotty McDrunks drafts.
Scott still ran the show when we was VP of personnel and was credited with making those draft picks. He had some amazing drafts.

2005:
1st Round - Alex Smith
2nd round - David Baas
3rd round - Frank Gore
3rd round - Adam Snyder

2006 netted Vernon Davis, Manny Lawson, Parys Haralson, Delanie Walker

2007:
1st round: Patrick Willis
1st round: Joe staley
3rd round: Ray McDonald
4th: Dashon Goldson
5th: Tarell Brown

Signed Justin Smith, Ahmad Brooks.
Hate on him all you want but we don't get to the super bowl without Mcloughan's crop of talent. He's responsible for 10-12 starters in our 3 year run

In 2010 he was fired 1 month before the draft so I'm sure a lot of the draft relied on his work. We got Anthony Davis, Mike Iupati, and Navarro Bowman that draft.

Yes.

Not sure who OP gives credit to the 05-07 drafts too. Nolan?
