We were 1-3 or about to be when Jimmy G got injured. The fact that I don't recall any of the takeaways the 49ers forced should say something.

The punting game is more important than your post may reflect. Especially when you are playing with backup players trying to gain confidence. Field position can help with that. Pinion came in as just average and you may have done better than him and helped the team.
