It's has nothing to do with him, he's not cleared to play football. The team can't put him on the field until then.

Him and Kittle aren't very close it seems since even in the box while watching the game they aren't sitting next to each other. Seems like only kittle is watching the game while hurd is just doing stuff on his phone.

He is probably taking the option of recovering for the long term over playing in the short term but suffering reinjury and never being able to walk properly again. I know what I would do.
