Yup, T.O. could break any tackle, outrun anyone on a go route. His biggest weakness were his hands.
And his ego.
EGO got him his jacket
Talent got him his jacket, and kept him in the league despite being an all time self centered diva.
Talent? So the guy who wasnt a starter in high school until a teammate got sick....who didnt get any offers to any big time colleges....who was a late 3rd round pick......got a jacket because of his talent? LOL.
He got to the HOF because of his work ethic, his ego and his desire to be great.
He came to the NFL with a s**t load of talent. He was an extremely raw WR with inconsistent hands. He was and is a basket and body catcher. Yes, his talent carried him a long way. He wasn't looked at by elite entities because of his lack of polish. When he came to the NFL, he ended up working hard in terms of keeping his body well conditioned. His route running and catching was never elite.
Coming out of college, he was 6'4", 220, and ran a 4.40.
Yes, he was crazy talented.
