When you have the #1 pick, you have total control...more control than #2, 3, 4, etc. That doesn't mean you can't screw it up but you have the first shot at whatever you want to do. Now we're at the mercy of others more.

Bosa is going #1, so it doesn't matter. Might as well just take him off the board completely now and don't think about it.
We're at the mercy of #2 and #3, IMO.

The fans who wanted us to win today are irrational.
If you're not rooting for them to win, what's the point? You might as well go do something else, you aren't actually a fan.
You're a fan for the future of this team. just because you can see the bigger picture in a lost season doesn't mean you are any less of a fan.
however it was nice to finally beat the hawks and end the streak
Truth. It's still your army. And sometimes as a General, you know you've got go lose some battles to win the war. And make small sacrifices for bigger gains.
So much lulz in this. I guess winning is for losers.
Seems like you're taking struggling with the overall concept.

The worst case scenario would be if the Cardinals, Raiders, and Jets all take edge rushers, and we'd be left with a decision for either taking the 4th best edge prospect, or going BPA. And the logical thing to do there would be to swallow the pill and go BPA, then punt on the position again.
But..... I would say this scenario is unlikely. I don't think we are that bad off. And it helps that this is a deep edge class.

So losing intentionally for the sake of "tanking" is better than beating a rival that has owned you for over a 5-plus year period? This young team needs to learn how to win close games against good teams. I understand what you are saying, but it's more beneficial for this team mentally to win these types of games.

my expectation will be that we do nothing in F/A as usual, or sign a bunch of medium priced budget players.
