Doesn't matter because the starters were doing the exact same thing. You can make all the excuses in the world, I even defended Saleh for awhile but there is just too much confusion, even amongst veterans like Malcolm Smith, for anyone to argue that this is a well-coached defense.
Its a constant issue, its not a one game issue, its not a one player issue, its not a young player issue, its not a backup player issue, its not a scrub player issue, its not a front seven issue, its not a secondary issue, its a whole defense issue, screwing up from front to back, side to side and picking up speed as the game goes on.
At some point, the people who are supposed to be coaching these players, who are supposed to be installing the gameplan and putting them in the best possible position for success have to take some responsibility.
All of this. When you compare this to the offense, in spite of losing their starting QB, backup QB, other key players at various points STILL puts together a decent performance all things considered...all 23 + guys on defense can't suck all at the same time all the time.

I am glad you brought up ST...we have the two best returners in college and both were beaten out by a 7th rounder. And when was the last time we did a fake or made a play on ST? Dude seems to be coasting.

Beat out on ST, IMO James should be the starter in the slot everyday all day.
