He also said he wouldn't comment if he'd be back or not, can't take what coaches say at face-value. But if Saleh is indeed back, then Kyle would lose a lot of my support.

This is the main issue. DBs can lose self-confidence by giving up too many receptions even because they have to cover for long stretches. In my 50 years of watching NFL, I've seen this before. The decisions not to retain and not to bring back Dumervil is ShanaLynch's biggest mistake.

Still confusing when looking at last year we weren't making the big mental errors, yet were ranked statistically worse. This year it seems like we're playing better when we do our jobs, but the amount of fundamental errors are overshadowing that. Those errors stand out more than a routine play where we do what we're supposed to. To add, and I know positioning is partially to blame too, but I think the lack of flashy plays on defense means they're also providing nothing to take fans' minds off the bad that happens.
I think Saleh gets one more year, barring a slam-dunk opportunity to exchange him for an all-star DC. If we suck again on defense next year, he could get a ticket out of town.

We couldn't have kept him even if we wanted to, since he retired.
