Beathard is tough, no doubt about it...yet the amount of hits he takes increases his chances of being injured. If Mullens had to start a game, I'm glad they have an experienced QB like Savage as a backup. I thought Savage had good NFL potential coming out of Pitt...he hasn't developed like I thought he would by now. He's what, 28? You never know when it comes to guys turning things around - maybe he'll show something more in working with Shanahan and his scheme.

He will be back Monday. Clearly their need for DB help for this game trumps the all world third string QB.
Crazy thing is it felt like we drafted 10 DB's this past draft.

I suspect they'll resign him next week. They clearly needed an extra DB for tomorrow's game. Savage is gonna be on the roster or on the "practice squad" the rest of the season ("practice squad" being a waived free agent, but ready to be added to the roster in a pinch).
