Again some in the organization obviously feel comfortable enough going out of their way to make a statement. It could be their individual thinking, or they feel the higher ups feel the same way or won't care, or they are told to do so.

It's like what happens on this forum sometimes.

You have some mods (who were regular posters before then) who go out of their way to criticize or make up something about Kaepernick...... then regular troll posters feel it's open season...and s**t up Kaepernick threads.
It is possible that there was a huge supply of Kap stuf sitting in the warehouse while his sales numbers were dropping like a rock and that Hayne and Gabbert's warehouse stock was within the projected sales numbers. When things went south for Kap, it was sudden and extreme. It's highly possible that they didn't want to get stuck with merch that they couldn't sell.

That did seem odd. However, it could have been that the team had thousands of Kaepernick jerseys that were no longer selling well and only a couple dozen Gabbert/Hayne jerseys to sell.

Stores do this all the time. They get overstocked in something and rate of sale does not meet cash flow projections so the mark them down.

EDIT: Hadn't seen eastie's post when I wrote this. Same point.

Kap has always had high jersey sales.

It happened ONE week after he was put on IR. Seemed unnessarly disrespectful. THEN when Chip got hired, they took it off clearance...lol

Don't yall remember they didn't let Kap be on the sidelines.

Then they came up with the excuse that players on IR aren't on the sideline because they worry they could get hurt.

But then we see a couple of our other players who were on IR, show up on the sidelines.

s**t is just unnecessary. Yall can call it conspiracy s**t or what ever. I just go with what I see. And these weird "coincidences" are just an embarrassment to the team. Unnecessary attention. Totally avoidable. But nope. Another "oh gee wiz, don't know how that happend".

There is just a culture there that even when the new regime showed up, it didn't matter.

That was pre kneel though.

And that was all because they wanted to cut Kap cuz he had an absolutely terrible year under tomsulsa and wasn't showing any progress. Just like Redskins kept RG3 from dressing to assure he didn't get injured so they wouldn't be forced to keep him due to injury. Kap ended up getting surgery and we were forced to keep him.

I'm sure RG3 was still allowed on the sidelines with his teammates... I remember always seeing him chew sunflower seeds in a hoodie.

Kap was incorrectly diagnosed by our doctors...and played through his injury which got worse. Then he got fed up with the pain and got a second opinion, which found out it was much worse. Then when our doctors changed their stance.

Even after all that, Kap could have chilled and got paid in 2016.. but took a chance and worked out a deal with our FO, just so he could get on the field.

The omission of Kaepernick was not the lone whiff in the gallery, which didn't actually focus on "top moments" in the series.
Most notably, the gallery also doesn't include a moment that is one of the most iconic plays in 49ers' history: Steve Young's touchdown pass to Terrell Owens - commonly known as The Catch II - that provided a 30-27 wild-card win over the Packers in January 1999.

Where is the fake outrage over this?

Supposedly is a team policy where if a player is in IR and at risk of collision then he cant be there. Guess we'll see if jimmy ends up on the sideline at some point.

There for sure was a clear rift between baalke and kap towards the end, especially in 2015. Are you just pointing out he was mistreated? Because this was all pre kneel.

Yup There was a clear difference with injured 2015 kap and 2016.

Yea the reworking of the deal was supposed to work in his favor too. Because it allowed him to get on the field and potentially earn a good contract from a new team. But then the kneeling happened and we saw how that turned out.

That's probably because he led the team in yards gained and was team MVP candidate for like 6 years.

GM and coach relations impact players and staff leaving, this is common in football. However completely trying to erase someone's contribution and accomplishments to a Football team is different.

Jed is a child. He removed Harbaugh from the museum at Levi's when he fired him too.

That was a good call. Harbaugh didn't win a Super Bowl.

How dare they
he was in college when he wrote that.

i thought that was his application to the NFL
This entire thread here be pure comedic goldness. To the person who started this here topic:

I haven't been this entertained in quite sometime. Loved the picture of the punter with the York family highlight. Laughed out loud, really.

That sounds like a financial company's culture, THIS IS FOOTBALL!

Football guys hate taking orders from or talking football with people that do not understand the sport (like Jed). Football decisions are different than your normal business decision. See Charles Haley, too much to deal with but was traded to a team that wanted him and he helped the Cowboys win more rings. See Aldon, given enough rope until he could no longer compete on the field, this is because both Haley & Aldon were great players! Great players are rare!

Bill Walsh bumped heads with Eddie D all the time, but Eddie was too smart and not so soft in his emotions that he let it derail his football teams vision & goals. Players and staff didn't leave, this was Camelot! Our second stringers would have won the super bowl back then. Have you seen Walsh's coaching tree? People didn't leave they wanted to be here.

Letting go of Harbaugh was one of the dumbest things the York's have ever done, and they do a lot of dumb stuff! They had no plan post Harbaugh (4 coaches in 4 years), and they still don't have a plan. The plan was to build the new stadium, nothing further. Never thought about the football operations, they just want people on board that they can control because winning in the NFL costs money and they do not want to spend.

People want warm and fuzzy, then go work in the tech field cause a successful football organization will never be warm and fuzzy. An unsuccessful football organization can be warm & fuzzy, we are all seeing that now...

That's what happens when you don't have football guys in the building. They think a punt is iconic.

How many teams web site staffers are "football guys?" This sounds like a screwup by some low level worker considering that The Catch II wasn't included either.

You can find staffers in the bay area who are football fans or can at least do basic research.

Not as cheap as you can find them offshore.

I am willing to bet that if you polled the players on the roster right now the majority of them wouldn't know the forty niner greats from yesteryear. Who is John Brodie? Hell, I bet many of the posters on this site don't know the Niner history. Tittle? Nunley? RC Owens? Hofer? St. Clair?

My dad was an usher at Kesar from '47-'50. I love hearing him talk about those teams.
Did they have a pic of adam walker in a cast?

I think the dumbest thing ever done was Eddie pushing Walsh into retirement. And the 2nd dumbest was Eddie with the bribe. Way dumber than anything the Yorks have done.

IF Eddie pushed Walsh into retirement he was at least smart enough to do so after winning three rings! Also, It worked out pretty good since he won two more without Walsh. In other words Eddie had a hand in the winning vision since he was able to get two more without the REAL Genius (Bill Walsh).

Also, the bribe had nothing to do with football. I would say getting caught paying players under the table (while trying to win) was a mistake on Eddie D's part but I love the fact that he was 100% focused on winning!
