Is it time for a defensive rebuild?

still dont understand how we don't draft adams and james/fitzpatrick

the bd needs complete overhaul, 4 new starters. Then we would just be an er away.

team was sold on Colbert / Tartt at the time of the draft.
We need an edge rusher #1, and another leader/veteran presence either at safety or linebacker. A solid veteran corner opposite Sherman would be nice.
Guess what Free Agency is full of this year.

Earl Thomas is a free agent after this season. Sherman convincing him to come on over, ET could give the FU middle finger to the seahawks organization twice a year.
I'd go after Eric Reid after the season. Reid and Tart as starters at Safety with Colbert as a back up and in special packages would solidify our Safeties spot (the other Reed as a back up) We probably need another CB in next years draft or another good free agent to go along with Sherman and Spoon. Get rid of K Williams. Get a could of pass rushers in the 1st round (EDGE) and 2 round (pass rushing SAM). a Guard in the third. WR, CB, TE and another OT with the rest of the picks. I think with DeFo, Foster and Warner, we can have a top 10 defense with a couple of more big pieces in the pash rushing department.

Tartt and Reid play the same position in this scheme, strong safety.
Reid player Free Safety for most of his career. He can play both positions.
This defense has never been established in the last 4 years so it is actually in the rebuilding mode now. Next year armstead, ward and other expiring contracts will mean more new faces.

Almost any new face over Ward could be an upgrade, and it would be a definite upgrade if we go after a proven commodity.

If we replace AA with someone (even if just slightly) better, that's a plus as well.
My plan would be switching to a 3-4. First get a plugger. Meaning really big, fat, wide ass nose tackle like this who can clog the middle.

Add 2 run stopping defensive ends or keep Thomas and Buckner for that. They suck but you already paid them. Then draft 4 fast, pass rushing outside linebackers and hopefully 2 of them will stick. Keep ward and foster inside.

This man thinks it's 1992.
There are some pieces on defense, they just don't know where to go on down and distance. It's all on the coaching, with a proven DC (not a newbie that's never held a coordinator post) there should be an improvement.
Haven't we been rebuilding this defense the past 3 years? Every 1st round pick since 2011 has been in the defense. I wish we could bring back fangio or hire a GM that will take free agency seriously.

Wait a minute, Buckner sucks in your opinion? Before I say any more, just confirm that this is your view and that your werent totally pissed when you typed this nonsense.
