why? offense played terrible that game. alex only completed like 1 pass to a WR. granted we had brett swain, but the good QB's get it done when it matters and elevate the team around them.

Wow this thread turned into the worst niner game of all time. I thought the point of the thread was that the niners vs chargers was getting no love nationally. oh well that's the webzone for you lol!!!!

I think the offense converted like one 3rd down. I remember vividly, Alex Smith smiling as he jogged off the field after a 3 and out late in the game. I was like, WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yep. offense wasn't getting it done regardless if Kyle Williams fumbled or not. it would have been a lot different if the offense was carrying it's own weight, but 3 and out after 3 and out after 3 and out. our defense played it's ass off. I'll always say the offense lost the game for us. not Kyle williams. but people will strongly disagree, understandably.

There are 2 loses that hurt more.
Losing to he Vikings in the playoffs in the 80's [I gorget theyear]
And losing to the Giants in the Playoofs under JH.
BUT it is the Worst Tackling Game ever!
I can tackle better than Exum.
The two NFCCG's to the Giant's are the worst.
Especially for me since I hate the Giants more than any other team.

Worst Niner game ever.
Vikings playoff loss.
Hideous.
I absolutely agree...that was when Vikings WR Anthony Carter tore us up! We had the #1 offense and #1 defense that year...and that was when Montana was benched for Young...UGLY game. Im also surprised no one mentioned the NFC championship vs the seahawks...that was a heartbreaker too...

refs called that bradshaw fumble dead when it was clearly a fumble before the whistle. we get the ball there, game over. It was like at their 20 with only a few minutes left, IIRC.
Found it. HUUUUUUUUU

Beat me to it
While we're talking about bad 9er games, the one that really stands out to me is Cody Pickett @ Chicago
