They fall in love with the pass too much imho, Breida and Morris could salt this one away if they let them. I mean you lose your starting left tackle and then continue 5 and 7 step drops..seems a little silly to me

It was like there were two different games. In the first half, the tackling was pretty good. Then it was like the forgot how to do it when they came out for the second half.
yep....not covering RBs out the back field is a killer all season...our defense needs to come up and tackle as the RBs catch the ball....once the Rbs catch it and turns up field with momentum, tackles are gonna get missed
That will get better as Foster and Warner gain more experience playing together. After all, this was the first game when the 49ers started what they consider to be their starting LB crew.
i think its more of a defensive play calling flaw....i think they need to bring the SS down and have the LBs sticking more closely to the RBs coming out of the back....whatever it is the other teams see it and have really stuck it to us

I don't understand the love affair with Lynch and Shanny when it comes to drafting. I personally think they suck. This team is talent deprived in the worst way.
Foster and Warner maybe Mike and Pettis other than those four I can't think of a single player who is a must keep.

Strange, the story from last year was that the run d no longer was historically bad. Big step forward. But this year it looks worse. I think that literally no db can tackle an nfl RB. Exum is horrendous. I would like to know what his pff is this game vs run d.
How many missed tackles? I saw five in the last 10 minutes.
When you play with guys who play crappy, everyone starts to look like s**t at times. I don't care about another moral victory (just gives us false hope). The pass rush needed to step up more than ever to help out a banged up secondary. We only have a couple of real keepers and a bunch of back ups. Marsh and several others are pure garbage.

Poor tackling and bad schemes. They cannot sustain for 60 minutes. I think it's time to fire Saleh. He's a position coach at best. He's not meant to coach a defense yet.
Don't think he'll get fired during the season... have to wait until the offseason.

Yeah but you put a 2nd year qb in position to make that play. He threw into double and triple coverage a few times today. They were in zone and hd him covered, he threw it anyways and yes Celek should have caught it but ig you run there is alot less bad that can occur.

That play in particular came after CJ was destroyed by a roughing the passer penalty...KS IMO should have given him a break for a sec and run the ball.

Not having Sherman on the field to settle the young guys is a killer. Every good defense has that acknowledged, respected field leader. Uncle Sherm is our guy. He just needs to get healthy.

Beathard reminds me a great deal of Steve DeBerg. Bill Walsh had an interesting take on DeBerg:
DeBerg, he said, was "just good enough to get you beat."
