OL Shon Coleman

John Lynch said they believed Coleman had starter potential before he went down to injury. I thought he was a solid player at Auburn.

Meh...
Good depth retention.
They always copy my takes. j/k.

Wonder what kind of money Coleman got? Looks like Brunskill is gonna battle for that RG spot with Person. Person is pretty cheap at 2.5 million for 2020, and 3 million for 2021, wonder if the Niners keep him if Brunskill beats him out? Garland hopefully is brought back to be the back up C/Guard, along with Coleman+Skule as tackles. Wonder if Person ends up being a guy we trade late in pre season for a differnt player who we might need, or for a late 2021 draft pick? Seems to god to just let go for nothing since he makes so little, and is a capable starter in this league.
Talking about OL depth. I am not sold on Skule. We will see what we have in Skule next season. Having Coleman as a swing OT, and Brunskill as a backup OL for all positions or challenge for a starting interior lineman position make me happy. The remaining big question is whether Richburg can come back at 100%
Richburg better, because we just re did his contract a few months ago, and we can't get out from his deal like we could have before. He is basically guaranteed to be on the roster for 2020+2021, then if he is really bad, we could cut him before the 2022 season, and free up close to 7 million. So hopefully Richburg comes back healthy, and in a year or two we draft a Center to eventually take his spot.

Yep, you and I talked about that months ago.

I fully expect Brunskill to take the RG slot which takes a lot of the sting off not having a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Yes sir. That said, now they might be able to trade back at 13 and/or 31. Boom!

The 13 should bring quite a haul.

For example, if were were to trade back to #22, we would also get their 2nd and 3rd round picks this season, based on draft value.

As much as I would like those extra picks, if Jeudy is there at 13, run the card up there quickly.

What if some how Herbert is there at 13? Would he make sense to draft and sit behind Jimmy G this year, and then if Shanahan likes Herbert more, then we trade Jimmy G next off season for a bunch of picks, all the while freeing up TONS of money to keep our roster in tact going forward?

I'm perfectly OK with that.

Now that's bold.
