Even when the Niners had no production out of their receiver group last season (before trading for Emmanual Sanders), Kyle didn't really give Richie James much opportunities at WR. But you know what, Kyle always have a lot of confidence with Richie James.
Kyle is starting to get use to lying. At least last year, Kyle admitted he was wrong on Mostert.

U know Kyle was playing Richie quiet often and calling his #s too early last year.. but after the Raven's game, it's like he got shut down by his own position coach and then Kyle didn't seem be bothered by it..
NOW, he gonna say he's not surprised???
WOW !! no wonder he did not wanna use him until all the injuries !!! ??

Even prior to this game he made plays whenever he got the opportunity, which unfortunately didn't happen very often.
But with Taylor doing nothing this season he should have gotten a shot earlier.
He's no world beater but he's definitely better then Taylor.
I didn't either. He wasn't used often but seemed good for a play when he got a shot the first two years. I wish we threw the ball more, then we'd likely see more of our receivers deeper on the roster. Next year, I'm hoping for Samuel, Aiyuk, Bourne, Hurd, James, and rookie that can get vertical and be what Marquise Goodwin was in 2017 and 2018 to a lesser extent. Not necessarily 4.2 speed, but sub-4.4 would be nice.

In 2019, RJ was battling for the #4 receiver position along with Goodwin and Cattis. In the NO game and after, the only WRs who got any offensive snaps were Deebo, Sanders, Bourne and RJ. That he got not a single target, should not be blamed on Shanny or Wes.

Let's not get carried away. He had a career night, but GB was playing scrubs at corner (King and Alexander were injured).

Guy should get a bunch of snaps going forward. Taylor should not see any meaningful snaps & be gone next year

Coach Shanny not surprised by Richie James. So unsurprised in fact that he kept Richie James on the bench to save him as a secret weapon for the next super bowl they're in

I think the success of our receivers is Nick Mullens.. he gets the ball to them much faster and plays with a upbeat tempo.. I still like Jimmy G, but seems like it takes a while longer for him to make the throw.

Yeah, Mullens is a little better at getting the ball to the receivers - Jimmy is more of a check down master.

yeah.. i like that.. receivers getting 10-15 targets a game.. I remember when Jerry Rice and TO would..
Jimmy and Colin just take too much time to read their checks..

We've been screaming this for a while now.
Yes sir. Next year, hopefully he's the small slot and Hurd/Reed are the big slot.
Kyle really "locks-in" on his guys. I mean wow, if James has looked this good in practice, how the hell does he not get the nod over Bourne, (formerly) Pettis, Taylor and others?
Kyle said he was supposed to start over Pettis in week 1 but the pulled hamstring sidelined him and then the ankle knocked him out again until this past week. Apparently, he was slated for more snaps but just was injured. There is ZERO excuse that he's not used as one of the top 3 options now. James can get deep. He's faster than Bourne, perhaps quicker too. Use Bourne in the red zone, James everywhere else. Find the mismatches and capitalize.
