Me too. Super fast graded out his last year in college as an 86 which is among the top safeties. He will be our starting fs by next year for sure

Is he to replaced the enigmatic Colbert... because I think the Diamond in the Rough is MARCELL "HIT MAN" HARRIS !!!
Chris Biederman in his mailbag article said this about Moore today...would be amazing if he became the starter.

I was told by someone who watched all his offseason reps at safety (the media was only allowed to watch a handful of practices) that Moore was impressive in his move back to his natural position.

Weird what can happen when you play players at the position they thrived in during college smh.
Crazy how college coaches can figure out what position these players are best at. But it takes our NFL staff a few years to figure it out, and they have a head start with all the actual college tape and numbers.

If this guy can perform, not signing Earl Thomas would look shrewd in retrospect.

You call it crazy, I call it pathetic.
Playing multiple players this front office drafts out of position year after year.
Pathetic.
Not crazy or pathetic. These guys are not expected to fully develop immediately, they are still learning and developing - so you expose them to complementary positions and observe their skill set, this helps them if they return to their original position. No fine wine before its time!

I think we have tremendous safety depth when everyone's healthy. Moore, Tartt, Harris, Colbert, and Hospital Ward make for a very strong group. I sure would love to see these guys perform up to their potential.

Colleges have over 100 players to choose from with about 18-24 new players coming in every year. They may have several players at each position that can be plugged in whenever they're needed. In the NFL where there are fewer players , you don't have the luxury of addressing every position each year so you have to move guys around to find out who can play. It's really common in the D backfield to move guys around because of need or because the coaches think a player can fit better at a certain position in their scheme. It doesn't always work so you see players moved back again to their original spot. It happens all over the league unless a team is really set. Ronnie Lott started at corner but was moved to free safety. He was a good corner but a great safety.
49er fans always think the grass is greener with new players. Honestly I didn't see much from Moore at CB to say he was an upgrade there and I don't think he has a future at that position.

So hopefully he can come in and compete for the FS job because that's where he should be. I wouldn't not rule out Colbert though, I think a passrush will mask a lot of the issues we've had.

Yes. Push him off the roster.

after one yr? stop
Six HCs, and sometimes as many as 8, are usually sacked at end of each yr. If you throw in OCs and DCs, the number is a lot bigger. It is no joke that a lot of HCs , OCs and DCs, end up being Peter's principled....ie, promoted from a position they excelled at to a new higher position, (OC, DC, HC) at which they are failures. We alone addded to 4 different HCs in 4 yrs. That is astounding. Look at wade Phillips. Guy is terrific DC, but as HC...a flop.

So my hope is that with talent in the front 7, and some "maybes" in the DBs, that Saleh has enough talent to show us just how good he is. Some of the simple ways a HC, OC or DC can screw up can be in where he has his players positioned. And playing a S at CB who proves he can't play CB, is one of the ways coaches can really screw up. Saleh came here green as grass but a very good LB coach. He was tried out as DC with no previous DC experience, and his position coaches the last 2 yrs have been less than acceptable.

Joe Woods and Kocurek should make a huge difference, and i hope don't make the same mistakes as have been made already with mal-positioning Solomon, and Tarvarius. Give a guy a little bit of power (eg position coaches, asst coaches) and they can do some really stupid things. These two players are prime examples of that.

If that should happen again this yr, guys playing out of their normal position on D, then Saleh doesn't belong. But he is a sharp guy and has listened to the gripes and complaints accurately pointed at him, and i will bet on saleh not to be playing guys out of position again. IF he didnt' learn that lesson then...adios.

My expectations are for Saleh to do a good job, prove his competence, and hopefully lean on both DB and DL coaches. With expertise at the two key D positions, plus a massive infusion of D talent, he should succeed. But he has to prove that by how he calls the D. And if that is not adequate , I would hope that Kocurek or Woods step in to do the job. I am betting on saleh, tho.
