The plan was to get Kirk in FA not draft a QB. I guess every team who really needed a QB missed out on Mahomes eh? You'd would have been b***hing bust all last yr when he sat on the bench for a full season.

We didnt give away Brown for free. Anyone who claims to support the team ought to know detsils like this. Additionally there were good reasons to move on from him. I was very sorry to see him go but it is very irritating when people make up things to make the team look worse.

Mahomes: Only KC to their credit saw this one coming. Tbe rest of the NFL rated him rather lower. As they were focused on Cousins, and subsequently Garoppolo, there is no reason to believe that they saw Beathard as a starting qb, more of a development opportunity. With Cousins/Garoppolo in their sights, why spend a 1st round pick on a 2nd string qb?

Excellent post, doesn't deserve to be hidden away in the Moore thread.

It's probably gonna take an injury from someone else to get him on the field. Seems like they feel good about leaving Witherspoon in there for now.

a logical post. Anyone that thought we passed on Mahomes because we had Hoyer or because they thought Beathard was the answer clearly isn't a 49er fan, doesn't pay attention, or has some bias objective to push.

Kirk was the answer at QB heading into the 2017 draft. Kyle stated they liked Mahomes but why go QB when you have a really really great chance at getting Kirk and still keeping your top pick? Jimmy G happened and changed plans, which is great another good young QB. We saw what Kyle and JG can do together.

People b***hing about Mahomes a yr and a half after the fact make me laugh. You'd be the same people calling him a bust while he road the bench all yr last season. Also if we're gonna pull after the fact stuff, Mahomes should have been the #1 pick by the Browns.
