McGlinchey had a tough matchup against a high quality edge playing on a talented defense that was desperate to avoid going 0-3. They have legit talent up front in Watt, Tuitt, Heyward and Dupree and all those dudes were playing like their whole season was on the line.

On the other hand the 49ers run game racked up 160+ yards and McGlinchey was a huge part of that.

Agreed

The OL wasn't firing as well as last week. They are missing Staley. It still needs improving whether by experience, coaching or buying a couple of better players. Our consistency here should be better if we are going to match the better teams and give JG more time to run through his progressions.

When you go up against better DLs, you're going to have more struggles than against lesser ones. There isn't an OL in the league that is immune to this. Even moreso when your left tackle is out.

Would you say the Steelers OL had a good game yesterday? That is one of the better pass blocking lines in football.
Still a monster in the run game
Our resident experts, what's the deal with McGlinch? He's been getting bashed a lot on Twitter, and has had a couple of glaring, embarrassing moments this year.

Has he regressed a bit? Or is he still a cornerstone tackle?
lol

Here come al the mcglinchey bashers. He played against the best defensive end in the league. Get a clue bashers. Also we should be up by 28 point if it weren't for the refs with that bogus holding call.

Where are the bashers?

The issue of concern is that hes getting beat every week now and has had mediocre play.
I s**t my pants when McGlinchey tweaked his knee early in the game. I kept an eye on him after that, and he was rubbing it throughout the game. He seemed to be okay, tho.

McGlinchy has been the weakest link this year on the OL. Dude needs to stop partying with Joe all week if he can't perform on game day. Sophomore slump?

Has his run blocking not been elite again this year? His pass blocking can still use improvement but he gave up one sack against Garrett who otherwise was non existent. You would never know that they had Vernon and Richardson even healthy and playing last night. I think hes doing fine, we've just seen a huge improvement in the inside compared to 69's improvement this year.

He's given up sacks to Heyward, Tuitt and Garrett who arent exactly chumps... while mainly being left with no help as the protection has slid to help out Skule.

His run blocking is still top notch and his pass blocking has been fine no where close to being a liability like some are making it out to be. No tackle in this league is going to win every 1 v 1 over the course of the entire game against guys like that.
