I saw both Montana and Young as well as Brodie and Tittle. Young was physically better but Joe had the magic that you can't define. Some players just have that extra excitement factor. The ability to rise to the occasion when needed. Part of it was Joe was the 1st to win a SB but it was more than that. I sat in the same seat for all of their careers and I just know it was different when Joe was in there. You never felt out of a game. He was at his best when the moment was the biggest. All you have to do is look at his SB performances. All the TDs and no INTs. Brady has more wins but he also has 3 losses. His performance in some of his wins was really so-so. The injuries late in Joe's career slowed him a lot but he was really fun to watch in the first few years.
Stats belong to Brady but Joe is still the greatest. If you asked coaches and GMs who they would want to win one game I feel confident that the majority would say Joe.
