Disappointed and seeing some flaws in this rebuild , any thoughts on what the hell is happening ?
Couple of thoughts--1. Lynch and Shanhan have done nothing counter to what they spoke about last year in their intro press conference. 2. rebuilding is not only a physical process, but a cultural process--they want those who know how to win and have the fire to compete. 3. scheme fit is more important than perceived talent. 4. chill

I'm happy we're not over extended ourselves with three year contracts that average +10mil each. Plus we have our own players to extend,..trust the process

Both players were ALL PRO before injury and started every game. This is good for the locker room to get some good veteran presence and as well as "prove it" kind of deals. We signed the biggest need which was Jimmy G. Now its time to fit SYSTEM NEEDS! I trust Shanahan and Lynch to find the right players.
-We still have chances on T.Johnson and M. Butler to come sign with us and as well as Deion Lewis and T.Gabriel. While they aren't flashy, some are system fits. Sure , we could definitely look into what the Eagles last year, but I can counter-argue that with the New England Patriots who is there competing every year. lol.
You just need to relax! lol
I really don't get the Dion Lewis hype. He's an average RB at best.

I'm happy about finally having a FQB.
I'm happy that Lynch/Shanny are aware of the needs of this team and they're getting addressed.
I'm happy that we have some receivers that can ball out. Garcon/Goodwin/Taylor/Bourne. I;m sure in the draft that will also be addressed.
Most importantly, I'm happy they have a leader in the secondary. I think we forget how important RS presence will be to that young secondary.
So we missed out on Robinson/Watkins, in my opinion it's not the end of the world specially seeing that Watkins is making way to much for what hes produced. You know day 1 of FA teams tend to overpay. See Paul Richardson getting 5 years $40 million.
So the Rams traded for Talib and Peters, what can we do? Talib didn't wanna be here because he wanted to play for his old DC wade Phillips. I dont see how that's the FO fault. IMO, Peters and Foster on the same team wouldnt boat to well. Rams have a lot of young talent that are still under there rookie contract. You can say that the window of opportunity for them is now. They better be going all in.
It's the NFL. If you're not getting better, you're getting worse. IMO the 49ers are on the rise and i refuse to compare one teams offseason to ours.
I think the Rams moves they're making won't pay off in the end.

He's nearly a perfect system fit for this team.

I'm sure it wont. I cant imagine the trio of Peters/Talib/Donald making it all 16 games without an ejection.
I guess FA is more for the fans to have early bragging rights. As you can see based off of this thread, we have yet to make a "splash" signing which means we'll be 2-14 in 2018.

I think McKinnon and Crowell make more sense because they come from WCO offenses.

Neither are the pass catcher and pass blocker that Lewis is. He's also a good between the tackle runner who's productive, 5.0 YPC last year.

Sherman already said a big reason he signed w/Niners is because of Jimmy G...Lynch will sign C/OG Weston Richburg tomorrow to protect Jimmy and provide a more robust presence to the interior OL. Attracting FA's to SF isn't just to bring in flashy players...in fact, when you're a rebuilding team you have a number of holes to fill. Lynch just filled two of 'em w/Sherman and now Richburg. Lynch & Shanahan know what they're doing...they've said all along, they building their team brick by brick. They just got two big ones. Chill.

The arrogance and over confidence is coming from the whining fans in here.

The arrogance and overconfidence is coming from the fans. People forget we are one season removed from 2-14 and started last season 0-9. We are rebuilding. We are not one or two players away from winning a superbowl (though anything is possible). Those players were not worth their contracts.

Silliness homie.. They cant make people want to be here any more than they already have.. We dont need to spend a bunch of money just to spend a bunch of money.. This lineman is a perfect example, hes top 5 center in the league and a top 10 guard for a fraction of the price of the guy from Carolina.. Plus the guy from Carolina didnt give us a chance to recruit him.. This was a perfect example of thinking on your feet and getting our team better..

With a young secondary in Colbert and Witherspoon, Sherman's experience in this type of defense is very needed. Can't wait until Malcolm Smith is back healthy as it will give us more experience with this defense. Look for far fewer mistakes this year.

can't have superstars at every position. people don't understand that.
