Trading/cutting Coleman can free up money needed to try to keep other important players on the roster. Mostert is the lead RB, after him I am fine with a restructured/cheaper McKinnon, and Wilson as our 2-3 on the depth chart. We then would still have Hurd+Juice who can take hand offs from the backfield as extreme depth. Coleman and his close to 5 million salary is a bit pricey.

I was surprised he didn't get more reps last season. When he did he was really solid. I think he will be good enough to be no2 if given the reps this season. Coleman is good once he gets open space but he was lacking on when to cut back threw the opposition defense line. He made a lot of bad decisions particularly when compared to Mostert. That is why I think Wilson will rise above Coleman this season.

you damn well better make sure the alleged jet is what you and others think and hope he will be before you cut coleman... i get dollars and cents.. but it kills me how people hate a guy like this who has actually played a big role is us having the season we had last year and the adoring love and hope for underachievers like thomas goodwin and pettis.

Agree

I'd really like to see him get more playing time.

Agree with this
Wilson is taking Breida's spot this year.

There's still Breida AND Jet who might have Breida's spot.

Breida, Mostert, and Wilson are all UDFAs.

When you have three UDFAs and another well paid guy and all four of them perform well in your offense I just really don't understand paying for any of them.

Mostert is already signed. Wilson is cheap. They can just go with Mostert, Wilson, and the next round of UDFA Mosterts, Breidas, and Wilsons.

Coleman and Jet aren't going anywhere. I bet we take a RB in round 6 or 7.

Agree

And hopefully McK returns to form.
Could Jeff Wilson replace Tevin Coleman as Kyle's bigger early down back before he gives way to Mostert and McKinnon in the passing game? Much cheaper too.

I bring this up because I feel like Kyle likes a bigger back on early downs and to start games with body blows and then likes to knock them out with speed and athleticism later.

I like Wilson's running style he just has to hold on to the ball. After watching Cohn's video on Coleman I am a little down on Coleman. Seeing him hit cutbacks in stead of hitting the edge was frustrating, but Cohn may have just been selective in the plays he highlighted.

True although he's seemed to have shored that up last year.
