we'll find out soon!

The dude is definitely backtracking

I'll give Mostert the benefit of the doubt against a reporter pulling a few lines out of an otherwise lengthy interview. Context is everything.

I'm like 99% sure Mostert sat out this week against the Texans just to make sure he was healthy enough to play against us this week lol
Regarding the grade he SHOULD be given, yeah, he missed a few, but he also had some clutch throws while getting smashed. One he probably shouldn't have thrown. As for the TD, that's an iffy play. It was risky due to the pressure, but this is the NFL and that's to be expected. It was a bit under thrown, but then again there was a bunch of pressure. Hindsight is 20/20, but still, the RESULT of the play has to weigh in on whether or not the risk should be taken.

So, D is too low, B is probably too high. C sounds reasonable.

they were playing dirty. f**k them.

Do they play this dirty usually? It feels like everytime we play them they have at least several dirty plays.

This is the team of gregg williams, remember?

Grant cohn gave jimmy a 'D' in a game where he threw 40 times, didnt turn the ball over, got punched in the face at least twice, got brady'ed, and tossed the touchdown that sealed it.

Can we ban his links? He's not credible.

That's just dumb. Bur not unexpected.

He's a lot more credible than the homers here. No one here was complaining of the A+ grade he gave Jimmy last week.

Me personally I grade him higher vs the Saints, including because the quality of the Saints stiff D when healthy makes it a curve for the grade. But Cohn is no less credible than either of you guys, I'm afraid to say.

All what Grant Cohn can prove is the proposition that you do not have to have a long neck to be a goose.

Jimmy G. played great against bad teams (Carolina, Rams and Cardinals). He was avg today. He is not an elite QB. Defenses can easily prepare for him.

If the 49ers win the SB this year, give Jimmy G. the contract he deserves. Lance, well, deal with it when you have to. This is a not a "sentimental league", it's a business, and he who wins, he will be rewarded!

70% completion rate and he threw some dimes. Ever notice when the Oline is not pass protecting JG doesn't have a stella game?

Its a team sport.

I wouldn't say this is entirely true. There were multiple plays today where Jimmy did have time. Someone posted somewhere here that his Time to throw today was .5 sec longer than his average, so he had more time than hes usually had today.

Numerous times today he was forced to hold the ball longer because no one was open. The result was he was getting hammered after being forced to hold it that extra .5 seconds.

I don't see how's he's forced to do anything just throw it away. Getting hammered can end our season. Can't do it.

He completed passes by waiting instead of throwing it away early so he wouldn't get hit.
Still wanna know why Jimmy and others think the attempted tackle on him was roughing or a dirty hit??

The announcer made a note that it really wasn't, but I see posters here believe it was. Any clarity here?

on low hits per NFL.com:

e. A rushing defender is prohibited from forcibly hitting in the knee area or below a passer who has one or both feet on the ground, even if the initial contact is above the knee. It is not a foul if the defender is blocked (or fouled) into the passer and has no opportunity to avoid him.
Notes

  • A defender cannot initiate a roll or lunge and forcibly hit the passer in the knee area or below, even if he is being contacted by another player.
  • It is not a foul if the defender swipes or grabs a passer in the knee area or below in an attempt to tackle him, provided he does not make forcible contact with the helmet, shoulder, chest, or forearm.

g. When the passer goes outside the pocket area and either continues moving with the ball (without attempting to advance the ball as a runner) or throws while on the run, he loses the protection of the one-step rule provided for in (a) above, and the protection against a low hit provided for in (e) above, but he remains covered by all the other special protections afforded to a passer in the pocket (b, c, d, and f), as well as the regular unnecessary roughness rules applicable to all player positions. If the passer stops behind the line and clearly establishes a passing posture, he will then be covered by all of the special protections for passers.
Also Grant Cohn, talking to Shanahan in his postgame show: "You CAN'T blame Jimmy Garoppolo anymore," regarding red zone offense, and he then goes on to eviscerate Shanahan's playcalling.

But I thought Cohn was a Jimmy hater because he graded him a D? (Note he said the entire offense was garbage as well)

Because his takes are funny, in that even when they're not ridiculous, they're still ridiculously confrontational in a self-depricating, laughable manner, or come with touches of ridiculousness that may not be directly related to the point. Also on occasion he has people on his YouTube channel that actually know what they're talking about (including former NFL coaches, former college players, specialists and often times people far brighter when it comes to football than he is).

But mostly because I like watching him troll and also other people embarrassing him. Basically, to sum up: when you're not being uber sensitive, it's entertaining.
