At some point he was going to have a down game. Saints front is one of the better units in the NFL and pounded him all day.

That said, while he was EXTREMELY
lucky on the negated interception (nearly a pick six), he also made a few very big plays to help us win.

There were about three legit bad throws in that game, but otherwise Jimmy did solid considering how much pressure he was under.

I'll take luck anytime it's offered. The prayer pass he threw while he was getting tackled is another lucky one. Sometimes that's the only difference between a gutsy throw and a dumb decision though, a little luck.

Totally awful outing

Dont be misled by stupid stats. Is the team (especially defense) winning the games for him. He is not more than an average qb in a great team, and this is why we always lose in the final games of the playoffs. He is not good enough to win it all

Yeah ok, awful outing. He was doing fine until he got cheap shotted in the knee. Looks like he could be injured.

The first half, we put up 214 yards of offense and 10 points. (Execute a couple plays better and that could've been 21-0 at halftime)
If we kept up that pace in the second half, we would've had 400+ yards of offense. (Perspective: Buffalo's #2 offense averages 416 ypg).
The offense was moving, but we missed some plays.

We weren't able to replicate that in the second half, due to the offense getting banged up and the game situations---one drive was us backed up at our own 1 yard line after forcing a fumble, and our last drive was us milking 6 minutes of clock just running the ball.

Yes, we need to get better on offense, and yes, the Dolphins are looming.
But no, the sky isn't falling and we don't need to overhaul the offense. They just need to stay healthy so that the offense can build continuity and rhythm. Shanahan offenses with the 49ers always get better over the course of the season. They're a team that just continually grinds and works at it, and I know they'll do the same and I'm confident our offense will be playoff-ready.

Very logical, measured, intelligent, reasonable post. No place for that in this thread.

Jimmy G is playing very well this year. No problems with him.

Has Jimmy even had one of his BAD Jimmy Turnover Moments this year? Aside from injuries, the overaggressive play that leads to silly turnovers has been my only gripe with him. We don't need him to be Patrick Mahomes, just to be efficient and move the ball and let his receivers mount up YAC.

Feels like he's played very cleanly this year, and especially since we've gotten CMC. It's still a work-in-progress, but this offense is trending upward if we can just keep everyone healthy. (Big If. )

Yeah he and the offense are fine. You don't complain about 13 - 0, 4 in a row, taking control of the division, #3 seed and throwing touchdowns and winning games. That's just dumb.

Jimmy G. played great against bad teams (Carolina, Rams and Cardinals). He was avg today. He is not an elite QB. Defenses can easily prepare for him.

If the 49ers win the SB this year, give Jimmy G. the contract he deserves. Lance, well, deal with it when you have to. This is a not a "sentimental league", it's a business, and he who wins, he will be rewarded!
all we ask is just don't turn the ball over and score more points than the other team.

good job jimmy g
Which qbs play lights out against elite defenses??

Mahommes couldn't score a td against the bucs. Position making got smoked against the Seahawks. The giants used to obliterate Montana. Brady also got smacked by the giants. Rodgers looked pedestrian against the niners

A qb is just not going to be elite against elite defenses.

70% completion rate and he threw some dimes. Ever notice when the Oline is not pass protecting JG doesn't have a stella game?

Its a team sport.

also QB needs protection and not getting lot of big hit in a game. Brady struggles a lot when he got hit often

Agreed, OLine was not great today. Saints defense is better than advertised. On thing for sure, Jimmy G. had a gutsy performance, glad he didn't get injured, phew!

Yeah he and the team were really lucky. The run game was shut down by the NO was well. Their defense was firing on all cylinders today

I wouldn't say this is entirely true. There were multiple plays today where Jimmy did have time. Someone posted somewhere here that his Time to throw today was .5 sec longer than his average, so he had more time than hes usually had today.
