With what exactly? He has no endorsements. I really hate that nickname. Thought people finally stopped using it until just now.

lol tbh, I really don't know how that nickname is a insult.. I see it as a PLUS to his swag meter....

It is an insult. The way its been used in the media has shown that to be true. You think they'd call Mahomes, pornstar Pat, if he had took an adult film star to dinner once? No f**king way.

I 100% agree......
I especially hate when Steven A. Smith calls him that.

Yeah, it's all hate.

Maybe if he said it about Kyler Murray or Watson, it would be giving them props.

Just typical racism that is allowed in modern society.

When screamin' Smith says that name when he mentions Jim he really, and I mean really emphasizes the "#$%=star".

The media will cover anyone and anything that makes a good story. So far Jimmy hasn't been an interesting story. No rags to riches story. No aamzing season. He's kind of a dull interview. Other than the porn star dinner his off field stuff has been quiet, which is good. He just isn't outspoken like some guys so the only way we will see a good story will be when he wins a SB and has a big game.

Getting traded to a bottom 3 team that couldn't buy a win and instantly turning them into a Super Bowl contender is a pretty good story imo

It would have been if he completed the last chapter and the Niners won. They didn't so to the media, there's no story. In this world with all the bloggers and online crap, the major news agencies are only going to spend time on stories that sell. Like I said, if the team wins the SB this year then they have their story. Brady backup that waits his time, gets traded and leads the team to the SB win. With his looks he should get some endorsements. Still not sure if his quiet personality will make him a star in commercials but we'll see if they 49ers win this year.
is he wearing the brace?

I call b******t, so basically the only way he'll get any kind of respect Is if he wins a super bowl? Something that not many players have accomplished regardless how great they were? That's pathetic. Kaepernick lost the super bowl In 2012 and the media still talked About him like he was one of the up & coming QBs of his generation along with Wilson,Luck,& Cam(he wasn't) . Joe Montana didn't have the loudest personality and he still got plenty of endorsements. Granted Joe earned his hardware pretty early on in his career.

Joe got very few endorsements for a guy that won 4 SBs and was MVP and considered the GOAT. Look at how many Aaron Rogers and Payton Manning have had and they haven't won as many between them as Joe. Kaep was a phenom at the time with his speed in the open. Remember the game against GB. He was something different and also had more of an outgoing personality. He talked a lot and of course he eventually did the sideline protest. That's not a knock on how good Jimmy is but some guys are more quiet and laid back. Joe Namath got lot's of publicity and several commercials because he was a personality as well as a football player. Companies want faces that are going to sell products. They don't care about being fair.

Jimmy hasn't gotten much respect around the league so far which is why I say the only way he will is to win a SB and have a good game. He has the looks to be a media star but I'm not sure about the personality. He's not super comfortable in front of the camera so I don't know how he would be in a commercial. I hope he gets the chance.

If Jimmy G was the 1st to kiss his bicep after TDs he'd be flowing in endorsements. He's just not "flashy" in that way.

The most that makes sense why the media is hitting on Jimmy, is that most of the sports media are male and most of their wives are fantasizing about Jimmy. Wether they admit it or not, most media personalities are male chauvinistic, jealous, narcissistic, egoistic who can't accept the fact that Jimmy is a better man than all of them.

He could probably cameo in some sort of saved by the bell 2.0 episode somewhere.
