Anyone who fell in love with CK in 2012 has zero place to give Jimmy a hard time.
In 2012 CK's 2 highest passing games during the regular season were 244 and 273 yards. People here were slobbering all over him and how explosive and electric he was.
Jimmy threw for 243 yesterday.
I'm sorry, bro. I know you are the guru and have forgotten more football than I'll ever know, but the two situations aren't even comparable.
One guy had an OC in Greg Roman calling plays out of the Mike Singletary playbook, while Jimmy has the luxury of one of the brightest offensive mind in football. Not to mention he sat behind Billy and the GOAT for his first three years.
Most of the time Jimmy is throwing to guys who are schemed wide open, Kap on the other hand always seemed to have to thread the needle or "make something happen." Towards the end of his career, somehow the defense was in the backfield before he could even finish the E in hike.
And please dont lecture us about double standard. Kap was absolutely trashed on this forum when he had no Oline, no WRs and really poor coaching. How quickly they all turned on him after giving us some amazing football two years in a row. Please, how many times did Kap have to deal with 3 and 10 or 3 an 15 because of consecutive up the gut run plays followed by a false start.
I've followed this site long enough to know you where never a fan of his, it was a totally different era and philosophy of football then...GR always looking for the "chunk plays," not for a guy like Breida or Kittle to take a 4 yard catch and turn it into 10.
Once Kaps gimmick was figured out, he was done. It was extremely obvious he lacked the intelligence and awareness to make things happen solely with his arm. Unlike Wilson who knows how his scrambling benefits his game as a whole. Kap was jerky, not fluid, and completely lacked the ability to put touch on the ball. Although he was a strong runner, he wasn't nimble and agile in the pocket.
Additionally in my personal opinion, I also think he got into his own head which didn't help matters. After the commercials and early success, his ego couldn't handle not being recognized by the media once he started failing. He became defensive as we saw with the media, then started spiraling out of control after he lost his job. Feeling unimportant and missing the recognition, he then looked for and found importance with his social justice beliefs. All my personal opinion, but that's how I view his demise.
Sums it up nicely imo.
