Have to agree. Felt it then and still feel it. McVay saw a redhot Niner team and wanted to play psychology going into the playoffs and steal our steam going into next season. He didn't want to shake the confidence of his team before the playoff the game and rather than hand the edge to the Niners for next season knowing they got whooped by a less talented squad he wanted to be able to say "well we didn't play any of our guys". In my opinion it backfired on him in the playoffs as they looked flat against Atlanta.

Young teams need to play all the way into the playoffs. You see it all the time where a young team goes into a bye week and then gets crushed coming out of the bye. Young players dont know how to handle their time off like veterans and can't just simply flip the switch after a bye and play at their top level.

We will beat the rams again this year.

Ever since the new contract all Jimmy does is go out and enjoy life (fancy dinners, pool parties, roller coasters). Where are the Instagram posts of him running around little cones while watching film? See it too often in pro sports - sign a fat contract, take a year off.

Actually, I've been thinking the same thing. All I see is Jimmy partying. Does tom Brady do this too? Don't think so. He grinds, and I'm starting to doubt him a little.
