Stretching doesn't prevent broken orbital sockets and bruised ribs. Sometimes injuries are just injuries.

True true...ACL, MCL, high ankle sprain, concussion, orbital bone, broken forearm, torn bicept, back, neck, deep bone bruise, hand, finger, etc.

You name it, we got it.
The NFL needs to increase the rosters. All the injuries and random guys coming off streets with no practice is just playing wrong.

Would be a great way to water the league down even more.

Injuries are already doing that. You'd still have 46 active on gameday.

Where are the Niners compared to the rest of the league? Feels like injuries are way up all over the place. I agree with expanding the rosters. It isn't water-down when these guys are coming off the street. One could argue that it strengthens the league because deeper rosters gets more guys practicing.

I'm 50/50 on your reasoning ...

I don't feel that an increase in 2 vital areas:
  • allow the full 53 player roster to dress
  • increase the players per/squad [in season] from 53-to-58

... would'nt "water down the league", on a per/season basis. Nor do
I believe it would affect in game play [significantly] come game day.

It surely would give the various aspect of any teams coaching staff,
other immediate options ... other than those presently available.

As a fan, I'd appreciate it from a 'quality of play on the field aspect' as well.

Allowing good teams to horde more good players is going to limit the amount of good available talent to the rest of the league, there won't be a sudden influx of new available talent because of this.

49ers faced with wave of injuries to most highly drafted players
I think with the year-round training, NFL bodies are over-stressed and over-worked. Need to simply take care of there bodies and cut down on the overkill offseason training.

Here is an excellent video that speaks to the area of increased injuries to quarterbacks but also to players in general. Definitely worth a look.

And another one. Garcon to IR. So f**king frustrating.
