I thought magnuson played pretty decent today tbh.
Minus that horrific snap at the end of course. 😖

He did
and that horrific snap preserved our chances at #1.

So I read he only played 13 snaps at center in the NFL before the game and zero in college. Definitely nerves on that last play, but that sucks for him.

An awful play at the worst possible time overshadowed what was a otherwise a very good game from Magnuson. Cardinal pressure came mostly from the edges if I recall, not the middle. He held up well.
I read about the bad snap just eating him up after the game, you could tell he feels awful. The silver lining is.. Well.. Aside from draft position.. This haunting memory will make him better by driving him to work even harder and make sure it never happens again.

And quite honestly, this was THE worst game for him to start. The Cards were dialing up blitzes on virtually every single down because the tape shows the OL struggles with it and CJB panics into bad decisions.
Staley had a bad game (although PFF will give him a 90 grade, I'm sure) and we had free rushers coming from everywhere.
Kyle still with the 7 step drops in his secret tank mode like not calling a single pass play inside the 5.

Can we please throw a fade to Kittle? Who is going to box him out, honestly? If they double cover him, have a shovel option to the back underneath.
It is certainly mind boggling that we struggle so much to run or run play action at the most crucial moments when we need to.

Totally. You're seeing the downside of the OZ... it's hit or miss. It's either a 3 yard loss or an 8 yard gain and the smaller OL struggles in short yardage and goal line situations often.
But yeah, we're not very creative down there with personnel.

Close but no. It would sum up the season if it hit him in the face giving him a concussion.

agreed. He will work hard, and hopefully be a valuable backup for us long term.

This guy should never again see the field the rest of the season.
