That's probably Zgonina's doing, and that's why he's gone. Once Kocurek came into the organization, I think DJ Jones was immediately elevated and Earl was let go.

Don't forget the importance of D.J. Jones' speed on the interior DL 👀 #49ers pic.twitter.com/fmyiHDh6am

Agree. Loads better than Solomon in my view. Explosive agile, hope we can keep him on the roster for a couple of years.

Truth. I know I say this a lot but, "If he stays healthy..."
...well, you know.
If he plays really good, I doubt we are able to retain him, he'll get close to $10M a year, Michael Pierce got $9M a yr from the Vikings, and he's a NT.

Also Jullian Taylor could replace Jones in 2021, he's around the same size as Jones, and did a good job when he had the opportunity in 2019. Plus he'd be cheaper after 2021 IMO.

I like Taylor - he can definitely be a factor in '21.

That's definitely something to keep an eye on. That said, he's never been able to stay on the field and we play nickel 70%. I think he'd have a tough time getting anywhere near that range after one good year.

Well Pierce played less than 50% of the Ravens snaps, and got $9M a year from Minnesota, so I think Jones can break that IMO.

Taylor can't stay healthy been that way since college. Sucks because the talent is there.

Maybe this is the year he does stay healthy. Maybe he'll be this years Jimmie Ward and shake the injury bug.

How many years has Pierce proven his level of play?
I think you've got an excellent perspective on it.
