It's harder to bat down balls that are thrown with a higher launch angle to outside or when pump faked, than it is when you stare at the middle of the field and then throw over the middle.
QBs like Jimmy who live with a short game that often peppers the middle of the field and have TE play a major role in zone beaters, etc have to live with batted passes and LBs camping the underneath and picking them off sometimes. That or get crafty and not be obvious when scanning the field, utilize pump fakes, misdirection, etc.
