That's great to hear. Sucks that we can get a 6th rounder (DJ Jones) who can do that exact job, possibly even better then our third overall pick but atleast he's contributing. That's more then can be said for Pettis.Originally posted by jonnydel:Originally posted by cciowa:Originally posted by NCommand:I haven't really paid attention to him. you just hope that maybe we can get some 6th rounders for him. cj. pettis. goodwin. or maybe i am over valuing this group of,,,, whatever the hell they are.
Thomas brings more to the team than a 6th. He's playing very well inside. He's doing a lot of dirty work that most people don't notice. But he was a huge reason we limited Kenyan Drake yesterday

That's really great to hear. His concern was always his size inside against the run but it appears he's starting to shake that question. And great point about Drake...killed us last game.

There isn't anything this dude does that a late round draft pick can't do. Period.

I am going to compare him to buying an expensive new car. We are already hit with the depreciation, one might as well use him in the rotation and let him walk in free agency after four season. Maybe some team will sign him to a decent contract and we will get a comp pick for him. Keep in mind AA will not be re signed as Brenston Buckner will be the priority

I really don't see that at all and I think the last part is seriously reaching.

Go back and re-watch the game. jonnydel's comment is accurate.

I feel the same. He's valuable in the rotation and until we bring in someone else who can outplay him, he should stay.

No sense trying to figure out what they do with him. It depends too much on who the re-sign.

I reason to trade him away for anything, he gives us good depth on a rookie contract. He's a great team guy. Heck another offseason training with Aaron Donald. He'll just get better. Play it out an then let him walk in free agency if you don't think there is a spot for him in the roster. At this point he's incredible depth. Guys go down "a lot!" We are gonna need this kid late in the season

Was really hoping he would pan out, just doesn't seem like he has any impact when he's on the field. We should resign him to be a depth guy, i doubt he goes anywhere else and starts, so might as well stay in the bay.

He's playing nose tackle right now with Jones out. In fact he got more snaps than Day there yesterday.

Yeah, he got quite a few reps at DE as well with Blair being out, when everyone was healthy you wouldn't see too many snaps from him though. I'm all for Solly, i really do wanna see him succeed. Hopefully he finds that dog he had at Stanford

He is super ineffective at edge, Ford being out hurt for sure
