Mills Concept is a very good cover 4 beater. dig pulls the safety out leaving the outside shade cornerback to cover a receiver on a post. (nice route by Bourne as well to hold the safety) pic.twitter.com/6iWvYzUkSt

Shanahan used Goodwin's speed well vs pattern matching schemes. Again, Hooker here respecting the speed playing soft in what looks like cover 4.. you'll see what Goodwin did on the outside vs this same coverage. pic.twitter.com/v4uiTlWaZl

With Goodwin speed its almost impossible for a cornerback to cover a 20 yard out. Pat P at some point has to turn and run.. and really run.. creating just enough separation. pic.twitter.com/B6dYMFXbcD

Aqib Talib now a member of the NFC West rams isn't fast enough to backpedal vs Goodwin.. it will be interesting to see if he challenges himself more than he did here playing a soft bail giving up the underneath route. pic.twitter.com/5kKeBsincU

So what effect does his speed have? (aside from him catching deep passes) Goodwin vs the Bears took 3 defenders with him deep. Insert Garçon Bourne Taylor and Pettis and the entire middle of the field is now open for them pic.twitter.com/JT8hzp47VX

49ers came right back to it. This time he outruns honey badger and Pat P pic.twitter.com/EqK6U1s4VU

against Arizona he outran defenders deep multiple times. this one right off of his outstretched hands. if you stay in your backpedal too long theres no way to run with him. pic.twitter.com/7Wc8M6fYvP

Against the colts he outruns 2 defenders and comes down with the contested catch pic.twitter.com/6eZ2JK1qbN

standing 5'9", most wouldnt think 50/50 balls would be a strength of his but Goodwin brought in several of them. Teams would bracket him deep with 2 defenders. Goodwin still came down with the ball. pic.twitter.com/yW3Pu4iTpN

Week one against the Panthers this speed was once again on display but resulted in a drop. This was not the norm on deep routes so we will blame this one on the sun lol pic.twitter.com/cstxpctBtd

Marquise Goodwin is FAST FAST. All 2017 off season we heard all about the Hoyer to Goodwin connection. in the dress rehearsal pre season game his speed was on full display. The slightest hesitation by All-Pro corner Xavior Rhodes cost them a quick 6 points. pic.twitter.com/a8q0WXqQkd

I expect the niners to surprise, those teams that will be using last year to figure out the offense will be in for a rude awakening. I do expect some rough spots in the beginning, especially for Jimmy as he operated on just a small portion of the play book and it allowed him to act and improvise. Now, his thought process might slow if he has to think to much about the play.
Hopefully, with Garcon's return and the addition of Pettis, it will open up Goodwin even more.

Greatest show on natural turf!
I agree, this offense is fun to watch. I get a kick out of all the defenders looking one way and Jimmy and Goodwin going the other way. Also, I like it when the defenders are beating each other up on the sidelines arguing because they can't stop kyle's offense. That one scene last year, made my whole year. And it was against one of the elite defenses in the NFL. I can see this offense really being hard to stop with all the speed Kyle has this year.

Nothing suprises me here. That's part of what makes it fun though and gives us lots to argue/talk about
