Lockett, Brown, and Austin all in the division.

I'm cool with it, we'll definitely need him for the quick / smaller WRs. He's probably as good or better than Brock... he's well rested, maybe a little rusty, but he's young and anxious to get back to work. From what I've read so far, he seems aggressive and willing to make big hits.

Is the dude really 5'8" 183 still?

Not with cleats on (5'8 1/2), and after a box of Wheaties (do they still sell those) and a sammich, he gonna be 190lb (plus we got new strength coach)

This!!!!

Get that scrub off the roster please.
it's still early, but there may well be something in Lynch's statement that players will want to play for Shanahan because he'll put them in position for success. Works for me.

Lets see how he holds up first. He didn't play last year and the last team who tried to sign him in the past, he failed the physical.

Kinda poetic justice that our first signing is a CB with a previous bad wheel. At least its not an ACL.
Finally were able to close a deal!!!!

If he can play the nickel and slot then what's going on with Ward?

I wonder if he is depth or here to replace someone that might be released.

Best FS on the roster . . .

This, so Reid ends up as depth, I'm good with this....

Reid ends up as SS, bethea is NOT gonna be on this team this yr
No tarrt is the SS lol. Reid doesn't have what you need for this defense at ss
I like that his former coaches wanted him.
I would think that there was enough talent in the present secondary that signing another DB wasn't necessary. However, this is Shanahan's call and let's see what he can do.

The last short guy that CLE let go and Shanahan picked up was Taylor Gabriel. That turned out well.

Him and Chris Davis (if brought back) gives us two good slot CB's
He seems to be recovering from bone spurs in the ankle.
CLE made a dumb decision.

Williams burst onto the Browns' scene in 2014 as an undrafted free agent who stunned many by usurping first-round pick Justin Gilbert in the secondary, serving primarily as the team's nickel corner. His most memorable performance came during the Browns' historic, comeback win over the Titans in Tennessee in Week 5 of the 2014 season.

Less than two seasons later, things got a little hairy. Williams suffered an ankle injury during training camp prior to the 2016 season, and when offered a full workload in a preseason contest against Green Bay, Williams chose not to accept it, citing his injury as the reason. The Browns viewed this as conduct detrimental to the team and suspended him for two games (a loss of one game check).

Williams sought a second opinion on his injury, and the independent specialist from the Cleveland Clinic informed him he needed surgery to remove bone spurs. Twelve days after his suspension, Williams was released by the Browns. The corner spent the season out of football while recovering from ankle surgery and filed a grievance against the Browns, which will be heard on May 16 in Cleveland, per Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot. Williams is seeking full payment of his 2016 salary, as well as reimbursement for the cost of his ankle surgery.
I think this signing is meant to push Ward out at Cb, or hopefully back to FS. I prefer Ward at FS, and a Reid/Tartt combo at SS. Reid is in the final year of his deal, so we could either look to trade him if someone bites, or have him battle with Tartt at SS. Bethea is as good as cut, so there's more money available in FA.

He's a nickel corner. I am still hoping we get Ward to FS.
