The #49ers will interview DeAngelo Hall next week for DBs coach, source says. Hall was with the #Panthers the last two seasons as assistant DBs coach but the sides parted recently in a mutual decision so he could seek a job as a primary position coach. pic.twitter.com/lb1isQHbLh

I'm super excited for the return of Saleh, but here's what I remember from his previous tenure:
The good -
Passion and fire, which was infectious and lit up the whole team.
Competence - we always looked like we had a plan.
The bad -
The play-calling was a little wild. It always seemed like we were either bringing the house, or going full prevent. Great when it worked, but sloppy when it didn't come off. A bit of a guessing game.
The incidental -
Not Saleh's fault, but for me he was greatly overshadowed by his successor DeMeco Ryans, who is a unicorn coach in that he can hype the players just as well as Saleh, but is also strong with the X and O's.
Any thoughts, reminiscences?

Fair thoughts.
I would assume he has grown from his HC tenure.
Saleh did benefit from a bunch of younger up and coming superstars which makes everyone look better.
I trust that he will make good in game decisions - will he have the players to be dominant again? that is the question.

The #49ers have mutually parted ways with Brandon Staley, per source.

Robert Saleh is the head coach of the defense, didn't want to keep Staley and will have say on all assistants, plus input into draft choices. #FTTB pic.twitter.com/mLDLIPykGt

I'm not sure what he is going to work with. Looks like the roster keeps emptying out.

They also have a veteran offense with studs like Barkley, AJ Brown, Smith, and Godert with a good QB. We are letting vets go on boths sides of the ball. It is going to take at least a season or 2 to rest with young guys then they will probably spend in FA to build around it.
