Goals!
#49ers have given up 218 points through seven games, and are on pace to allow 498 this season. The historically bad 2016 team had allowed 219 after seven games on it's way to 480 overall. That '16 team committed 25 turnovers, the '18 squad is on pace for 41.

That said...this team needs a veteran coaching presence on defense even if that means changing schemes again.
Living in NYC...I sincerely hope if Saleh doesn't make it that the Jets fire Todd Bowles so he can come here and get things in order.
It's not his scheme...it's actually Kyle's. He's going to run it no matter who the DC is.

Unfortunately, you're right. Every week the same mistakes are happening. Either the 49ers have dumb players, coaches are not doing their job or a combination of both.
I'd say it's a combination of both. Honestly, next off season they need to revamp the DE's and whole secondary excluding Sherman, Witherspoon and T. Moore of course. I'd love to see Lynch add a veteran Safety perhaps maybe Earl Thomas, Tyrann Mathieu or even lower tier like Landon Collins. This is getting very very frustrating, the defense needs some help badly. Really hoping Anthony Lynn gets fired so the 49ers can pounce on Gus Bradley, their first choice to begin with.

You championed replacing Harbaugh with Tomsula, you have no room to call anyone out for sugar-coating.
and that last two games with me. and i wanted gruden or older shanny first. if you quote me . do it right, nice deflection and no offense to context. there is a right way and a wrong way to play the game no matter who is there and our team is terrible and is coached terrible. here we are getting blown and we celebrate some meaningless sack or tackle. walsh jh monte george whoever would kick those players right in the ass.
That and signalling your own first down when you are losing by multiple scores looks a little ridiculous
I realize that positive plays don't come frequently anymore but I wish they would act like they've been there before.
Just my opinion
It makes them seem like they are more interested in personal accolades than the team goals. Dancing after a sack while down 4 scores late in the second half. SMH.
I agree with you guys,Dancing when you're losing is stupid and sad.

Looks like the offense is giving the ball up a lot more now.

Can't remember where I heard it (KNBR or NBC Sports Bay Area) but it was mentioned how lax Training Camp was compared to last year. Our sloppiness on both sides of the ball backs that up.
I love how our offense can be rocking. We may not score a lot but we can sure move the rock....until someone drops/intercepts it.
League rules have changed this game for the worse, but I really miss those days where we used to hit people in the mouth. We're so soft it makes me sick watching us play defense.

how would Lynn get fired? Chargers are 5-2 right now

What a ridiculous comparison. Our offense had been averaging close to 30 ppg, a top 5 rushing offense, great conversion rates and minimal 3 and outs. Our defense has been a bottom dweller giving up 30+ ppg and looking entirely lost in the process. Our defense and turnovers is losing games. Shanahan doesn't control either.
And our offense isn't just missing A player, we're missing our franchise cornerstone QB1, our RB1, and for all but 2 games our WR1. It's a miracle we're even scoring points with the injuries we have, defense can't say the same.
You may not like it, but these are the excuses the front office will trot out at the end of the year. Kyle still "believes in the scheme". I don't expect changes.
after 2019 if we finish bottom of the barrel in defensive rankings with Nick Bosa or another premier edge rusher, then thats when I expect the house cleaning for this defensive staff.

.@49ers how can you lineup like this on the GOALLINE? Getting lined up properly is the First stepbto playing good defense. Work to do! #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/UAV5YV5UGo

damn. Unbelievable.
Yeah, maybe Kyle needs to invite the reporters into the film room, so he can explain away this nonsense.
