I can't get on board with that. You don't live for next week in the NFL. It's too hard to win in this league and if you don't put it all out there each week, then why are they playing? Then you're just the Browns. No, it's not too much to ask for a WR who is 5th on the depth chart, was in the doghouse all last year to give every play 100% and do everything he can to help his team win. If he doesn't want to be out there, he needs to man up, tell his coach, quit getting a bigger weekly paycheck than 99% of people in this country and let someone else take his spot.
Thanks, JD, well said. Very well said. A lot of folks talk about , "Oh, he's only making chump change, $2.5 mil / yr plus another $1.5mil with incentives." And that's supposed to be chump change? Not to the rest of us peons, it isn't. Lots of us put in long hours, weekends, nites at times, and we do it , some salaried, some not. But it NEVER comes to the amount these guys are knocking down and expecting anything less than 110% from them is not only part of the job...it is expected. Interesting how easily this is so often overlooked.
If a player just doesn't have his heart in it, well, adios, and we'll find someone who does.
