Question- how "complex" is Kyle's offense compared to Josh Daniels?

JG was lights out on the "no frills" version of Kyle's offense.

Kyle is quoted as saying it takes a season just to be okay. And another to excel.

I'm simply wondering if this is stupid overkill lol
Once the DEN 1s were off the field, kyle called a good game. While jimmyG was QB, however, i give him a D-, and not a very good one either. He should h have anticipated that while using 2s and 3s at C and OG, against the likes of Chubb and Von miller, that there was no time for plays to develop. He needed to call quick hitters, one step and sling it. Sure guys might not have been open but that's all the time JG had and besides he had to navigate with his OGs and C pushed back 2-3 yds into his lap. Kyle is a much, much better coach than the game he called for jimmy....or the 7 plays, whatever it was. It was poor. Way below what he is capable of.

God I hope so. We need to flip them and/or depth on our D-line and acquire some O-line help.

We definitely have players on the Dline to go with CJ and Bourne...I wonder if any team would be interested.

Its like when we would spot teams a 21 point lead then start to play well which ended up in a moral victory. how good of a coach is kyle really?? as a oc. no question

Unfortunately the best strategy against a dominating pass rush is to *run* it down their throats. However, it's pre-season and that's not how stuff works in pre-season. You need to give Jimmy pass reps, and unfortunately - that's going into the strength of that defense. So you wind up with Jimmy just looking bad because of it, unfortunately.
Honestly the 3 series jimmy was in doesn't make sense. How do you forget how to throw in lanes that you have been doing ure whole life. He didn't seem to drop back far enough either. Could this be a rouse that Shanahan is pulling with jimmy to throw off the bucs? His play calling doesn't make sense. How did Staley get juked so bad against Chubb. Didnt even try and let him run past him. There was something fishy about that series and I can't figure out what. I've watched those series over and over and it didn't feel like jimmy or Kyle. Something seems up.

He is coming off a major injury and being timid. Often times a player returns from a serious injury to a real game they are cautious with the injured area. I feel he was thinking about the knee and f**k running the plays. Over time that should improve. It is all mental.

Its not a ruse. Jimmy G was that bad and Staley misread a stunt. It happens.

There was a lot of problems on protection calls and that comes from the center. It was clear in a couple of instances that guys were expecting help in gaps that never came. Staley included, it also stands to reason that because of the bad calls the throwing lanes were not aligned to match where the receiver's were releasing. I would love to see a view from Jimmy's helmet, because I would wager he was throwing where he was supposed to in terms of hitting the receiver but the poor gap discipline was allowing hands and bodies to be in his way.

This place will be fun if Shanny keeps CJ and they cut Mullens.
That would be awful.

Right now I'm a bit pessimistic on what trade value you can get from BeatHard. Just looking at it from a trade value perspective, Nick M. Has more trade value than CJ. And they might trade Mullens instead of BeatHard if they are desperate for some draft capital to help thier OLine.

Remember though, that's from us fans who watched Mullens win games. As we all say, winning is good deodorant. We've overlooked a lot of Mullens's flaws because he won some games. He lacks elite arm strength, which means he can't make all the throws, which means he'll be easier to game-plan against after teams see how he's used longer term. His vision isn't always the best. His highest ceiling is probably a poor man's Alex Smith.

That doesn't mean he couldn't win games, but if you're going to trade draft capital, you're not going to do it for a prospect like that. I'm not saying Mullens wouldn't garner some value to a QB starved team I just don't think his trade value is real high.

With CJ, he has a lot of flaws too but he also has a higher ceiling because he just flat out has a stronger arm.
