Not one f**king person has anointed him the greatest…if that's your issue then you've been arguing with yourself

True, dat. And anyone pushing any coach other than Bill Walsh forward as the greatest around here is going to get blasted by ninety percent of the posters here and quite rightly. By the way, Bill Walsh was around 50 when he won his first Superbowl so Kyle has a few years to go yet.

I don't have a link but I remember reading that when Shanahan and Lynch were brought in, it was to build and maintain a powerful roster. I don't recall any specific stress on winning Lombardi's, although obviously that is to be expected sooner or later.

Funnily enough, aside from pretend journo's and some 49ers fans I don't think I have heard anyone badmouthing Shanahan. Commentators, real journalists, other teams fans and staff, everyone except SF area clickbaiters and snarky 49ers fans rate him very highly indeed. I am not sure I understand why any fan of the team would wish to talk down Shanahan, Lynch and Marathe. Oh, they make mistakes for sure. Who doesn't? But what they have done for the team is outstanding.

Damn JT goes hard at "Kyle"
Love that JTO is getting the big names.

("last post" doesn't work right here, but congrats on posting it first)

It's up to us to make sure we compete for and win Super Bowls," York said. "That's our only goal. We don't raise division championship banners, we don't raise NFC Championship banners. We raise Super Bowl banners. And whenever we don't deliver that, I hope that you will hold me directly responsible and accountable for it. And we look forward to getting this thing back on track."

That quote was a pathetic attempt to justify moving on from a coach who was by far and away the most successful coach with the team in the York era to that point. Most people saw right through it, as they should have.

Am I losing my mind? The goal is to win a superbowl. It should be that way for every organization. We have a bunch of softees in here content with being good enough to lose in the playoffs. This is why participation trophies should be forever banned.

Yes the goal is to win the Super Bowl. The way you win the Super Bowl is by putting yourself in position to win the Super Bowl as frequently as you can. You have a great scheme, you build a great staff, you build a great roster. This is something Kyle and co have proven to be able to do. Just because they've fallen short of the ultimate goal to this point, doesn't mean they aren't capable of reaching it. There is simply no merit based reason to believe Kyle is failing at his job, nor is there a visible alternative that would be a clear upgrade.

Read the room... does it appear that Kyle is on the hot seat? He isn't.

Participation trophies? f**king nonsense. No one on this team is satisfied with almost winning. It's insulting to the dudes we watch put it all on the field year after year, You're like a little delicate snowflake who can't handle the ebbs and flows of competition. You'd rather fire and start over, over and over, than sack up and take a loss like a man, and build some f**king callouses. And you complain to others about participation trophies from the comfort of your soft tear-riddled couch where you whine day and night about every conceivable issue. You're the worst kind of fan, a chicken-little toddler, as entitled as they are opinionated, loud and ill-informed.

Kyle's learned from his mistakes. He's still a young and talented coach. He'll learn from this 2022 season and for sure that 3rd QB position is a lot more important than I thought it was. That's all he can do, is to continue to learn and improve. I'm pretty confident he'll have a championship with Brock if Brock is 100% healthy and stays healthy - sooner or later.
