LEAGUE been doing this... not sure how many younglings are here, but even in the 80s, it was done.. the John Elway trade to the Raiders was nixed silently by the league and up to this point, no wonder had any explanation..

.. then it happened again w/Jim Kelly when he got done out of USFL.. I remember a package being sent to Buffalo for the Raiders to acquire Kelly, but that too got nixed...

nothing new.. nothing new..

WHY DO YOU ALL THINK T.O. NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO PLAY AGAIN ?

I don't understand how the league would have kept that from happening. Bears maybe, being the same conference, but the league couldn't have stopped that.

Remember when the league stopped our trade of TO to BAL for a 2nd rd pick, then forced us to trade him to Phily for a mid-late rd pick, and a nobody?

Agree, the league knows who a good team is and who isn't, and so there's a conspiracy (and I don't think it's illegal) to make sure that good teams like the Patriots and the 49ers (for example) don't get better. The CMC trade was basically highway robbery against the panthers, and I"m sure other GM's out there are saying beware of San Francisco, they will fleece you if you trade with them. (or something like that). So the 49ers freed up 40+ million in cap space, and are getting ready for a big trade deal, but like you said - it may come to nothing as the league is wary of the 49ers now.

If other teams in the league won't trade with us because of the teams success those other teams are already losing. You worry about you, not other teams. If you can do a deal with a team that makes you better, from a different conference, you make that deal. If you are not making the deal over petty s**t like "I don't want the 49ers to get better, or I don't want that player to succeed" then you're a loser franchise and will never win anything.

IE SF didn't want to trade Lance to Dallas, but Dallas gave the best deal so.....SF=winning franchise, Chargers will continue to be a losing franchise if they still behave that way in their FO.

I don't think its any sort of stopping a trade or preventing a trade. Its more like top tier GMs warning a bottom feeding inexperienced GM that if you are trading with the 49ers, you might be undevaluing your trade and should ask for a higher price. I can see a guy like Snead or the LA Rams GM trying to screw a deal the 49ers are trying to make with (for example the Panthers) and saying they will give the Panthers more draft capital if they trade CMC to the Rams. They don't intend to actually trade for CMC, just want to make it more difficult for ShanaLynch to get CMC (as an example).

Correct me if i'm wrong but the 49ers would not have had Bosa, he would have went to the Raiders. Raiders got two first round picks from Chicago their 2019 and 2020 which would have meant no Bosa and no Kinlaw/Aiyuk. Plus something else bc supposedly our offer was a little better.

Glad the trade didnt work out if thats the case.

Wouldnt have got Mack without giving up the 2019 1st either.

Oh right. Yeah, there's no scenario where we see prime Mack with Bosa.

Great point, just wanted to say that I pretty much know the #1 pick next year will go to another DLineman, my hope is that the 2nd rounder will be an OLineman due to Trents age. Personally that should be reversed- first round OL, then second round DL. Just really glad we signed Bosa, and he's good to go for the Rams game.
When are we picking up Joey Bosa?
Mack and Bosa? That wasn't happening in a million years. Bears would've wanted our 2019 1st and we would've won another game or two with Mack.

Here's my vote for the next defensive coordinator of the 49ers once Wilks leaves for a head coaching position in two years.

"I love college. I love that the young men are still impressionable. They're not so financially wealthy that they can't hear you. At the next level, some of these guys make so much money they can't hear. They can't hear or they can't see the things that they need to see and hear. I would have a hard time motivating a man that makes upwards of 20 and 30 and sometimes 40 million dollars to go out there and do your job. I got a problem with that."

It also sounds as if Deion would make NFL players accountable for mistakes with their jobs.

Staley needs to be fired
Have to give Lynch some credit, got Trent Williams, Kyle Juszczyk, Christian Mccaffery, Charvarius Ward, Tashaun Gipson, and Javon Hargrave

Yup, he deserves credit, big time for getting those guys, but also the drafting they've done since 2019, finding starters or stars in the later rounds.
