Now this is a stacked roster, look at this article from the main page, https://www.49erswebzone.com/articles/169508-where-fred-warner-nick-other-49ers-recent-rankings/

Brock Purdy - 23rd ranked QB
Christian McCaffrey - 3rd ranked RB
Deebo Samuel - 10th ranked WR
Brandon Aiyuk - 20th ranked WR
George Kittle - 3rd ranked TE
Jake Brendel - 23rd ranked C
Trent Williams - 1st ranked OT
Spencer Burford - 32nd ranked OG (Surprised by this, and not having Aaron Banks on the list instead)
Nick Bosa - 3rd ranked EDGE
Javon Hargrave - 13th ranked IDL
Arik Armstead - 15th ranked IDL
Fred Warner - 1st ranked LB
Dre Greenlaw - 8th ranked LB
Charvarius Ward - 11th ranked CB

Doesn't look like they've done Safeties yet, but Talanoa Hufanga should be high on that list IMO.

That's certainly a typo. PFF had Burford at 49.6 which is well below average. Banks tapered off quite a bit as the long season progressed after a hot start. He ended with a 62.7 grade. Solid. Above average.

But the overall point is just. Not quite as top heavy as some rosters but top 5-7 and #1 in depth and experienced depth (thanks to being #31 in injuries annually).

Other than the KC, BUF, CIN, & PHI, I don't see how this team isn't top heavy, look at the stars at every level o both sides, then the depth.

Idk why they have Burford at 32 out of 32, but I would have put Banks there, I think he had a better year but that's me.

He always says this. It's his way of complaining that they don't make enough splash trades/signings to his liking. This is arguably the most top heavy team in football with top players at marque positions.

Yup, you nailed it with the bold as to what I said.

Not quite as top heavy as some rosters but top 5-7...
I went ahead and did the top 5 rosters IMO, in no order(PHI, KC, CIN, BUF, & SF), and saw who's ranked top 32 per PFF.

PHI:

  1. Jalen Hurts – 7th QB
  2. Rashaad Penny – 28th RB
  3. J. Brown – 7th RB
  4. Devonta Smith – 18th WR
  5. Dallas Goedert – 4th RB
  6. Lane Johnson – 2nd OT
  7. Jordan Mailata – 6th OT
  8. Landon Dickerson – 15th OG
  9. Jason Kelce – 2nd C
  10. Hasson Reddick – 7th EDGE
  11. Josh Sweat – 28th EDGE
  12. Brandon Graham – 30th EDGE
  13. Jordan Davis – 19th IDL
  14. Darius Slay – 3rd CB
  15. James Bradberry – 13th CB

BUF:

  1. Josh Allen – 2nd QB
  2. Damien Harris – 24th RB
  3. Stefon Diggs – 5th WR
  4. Dawson Knox – 12th TE
  5. Dion Dawkins – 31st OT
  6. Mitch Morse – 14th C
  7. Von Miller – 10th EDGE
  8. Greg Rosseau – 29th EDGE
  9. Ed Oliver – 24th IDL
  10. Poona Ford – 27th IDL
  11. DaQuan Jones – 31st IDL
  12. Matt Millano - 4th LB
  13. Tre'Davious White – 15th CB
  14. Taron Johnson – 23rd CB

KC:

  1. Patrick Mahomes – 1st QB
  2. Isiah Pacheco – 21st RB
  3. Travis Kelce – 1st TE

  6. Creed Humphrey – 1st C
  7. Chris Jones – 2nd IDL
  8. Nick Bolton - 11th LB
  9. Willie Gay Jr. - 27th LB
  10. Trent McDuffie – 24th CB
  11. L'Jarius Snead – 26th CB

CIN:

  1. Joe Burrow – 2nd QB
  2. Joe Mixon – 22nd RB
  3. Ja'Marr Chase – 4th WR
  4. Tee Higgins – 19th WR
  5. Orlando Brown Jr. – 14th OT
  6. Alex Cappa – 18th OG
  7. Ted Karras – 9th C
  8. Trey Henderickson – 9th EDGE
  9. Sam Hubbard – 27th EDGE
  10. J. Reader – 9th IDL
  11. J. Hill – 30th IDL
  12. Germaine Pratt - 20th LB
  13. Logan Wilson - 24th LB
  14. Chidobe Awuzie – 18th CB
  15. Mike Hilton – 22nd CB

SF:

  1. Brock Purdy - 23rd QB
  2. Christian McCaffrey - 3rd RB
  3. Deebo Samuel - 10th WR
  4. Brandon Aiyuk - 20th WR
  5. George Kittle - 3rd TE
  6. Jake Brendel - 23rd C
  7. Trent Williams - 1st OT
  8. Spencer Burford - 32nd OG
  9. Nick Bosa - 3rd EDGE
  10. Javon Hargrave - 13th IDL
  11. Arik Armstead - 15th IDL
  12. Fred Warner - 1st LB
  13. Dre Greenlaw - 8th LB
  14. Charvarius Ward - 11th CB

Not a big difference NC, Philly doesn't have a LB ranked. So I'd say we lineup with these 4 other teams quite nicely as top heavy.

The elephant in the room is....how we gon beat Philly? We struggle mightly against mobile QBs and Jalen Hurts might have leap frogged as the best. I think we really need Lance to pan out and add that mobile dimension to our offense

How fun! Ultimately, the QB + OL's + secondary are better. That said, if Brock and the new OL as well as the secondary under Wilks, takes the next step, and they can, we could be right in that mix too as those three areas are what's needed most in the playoffs and what's cost us the most.

I think we're deeper across the board and no team comes close to our depth.

PS: What does Leonard Floyd rank? No S ranks?

They haven't done the Safeties yet, couldn't find them, I imagine Hufanga will be high, might even see Gipson if they list 32.

Floyd I didn't see on their list of EDGE rushers.

The 49ers defence was effective against Philly in the NFC title game. Reason for optimism I'd say.

#Bridesmaid

Do you think we've done enough to get over the hump? Philly and KC?
Just for s**ts & giggles, before Safety rankings, I went ahead and did all 32 teams, no Safety rankings, yet, waiting on them, again in no order, except at the end, with the QBs, I got tired of going back and forth with teams lol, will update with Safety rankings.

PHI:
  1. Jalen Hurts – 7th QB
  2. Rashaad Penny – 28th RB
  3. A.J. Brown – 7th WR
  4. Devonta Smith – 18th WR
  5. Dallas Goedert – 4th RB
  6. Lane Johnson – 2nd OT
  7. Jordan Mailata – 6th OT
